If you remember the scene in American Graffiti in which the squad car's rear axle was chained to .... that's Petaluma. Several scenes of this comedic icon were filmed in Petaluma!
Friday and St night in the 60s were a cruise the "strip". Starting at a driven in and going to the bowling alley. Can't remember the name of the drive-in - maybe it was a Foster Freeze. Would do the route with one of my cousins in his 1963 Pontiac GTO. Good memories. American Graffiti captured the scene perfectly. I will pull soundtrack off the shelf and given it a listen 😊
I am in the same boat as others who really want to attend, but can't. I'm more than bummed. 2024 for sure!
In the meantime I am willing to help in any way I can. If there's anything at all - html, ticket designs? media testing or organization...just ask. I can use a VPN to simulate being in any country in the world so can troubleshoot video and server issues (after reading up about last year).
Let me know how I can help. 😉

I might show up on Sunday with a ton of surplus gear, wire, parts if anyone is interested.
I just got back from vacation... slowly getting things back in order..
Do I need to buy tickets or do I just show up and risk the wrath of those present?
Is there a schedule of events?
Is the wine included?

We're working on ticketing at the moment. Not sure what the schedule is just yet, but we are just 10 weeks out at this point.
Schedule soon? Sure! 👍

I was joking about the wine... you know... heck, Rutherford is not too far away and Rancho Caymus Inn is wonderful. The entire place is loaded with wonderful wines. Sure, IMHO, Central California is making better Pinots but there are some (*) awesome Cabs in Napa. it's been a while since we've gone to Napa... so we need to plan this.
I'm trying to turn this into a week trip, working on the wife. ;-)
Great food, great wine, great people and burned fingers.
Do I need to bring a fire extinguisher?
I think Petaluma is an splendid choice.
(*) Understatement, made in purpose.

Of course you were! And I'm right behind you, although I want to stay careful and professional. I don't always know how someone might interpret my posts...
A week trip would be perfect if you ask me. Start off Monday in Sacramento, then head west for Fairfield, Napa and Sonoma, hitting wineries and wine tours along the way. End up in Petaluma for an excellent weekend of audio and fellow solder huffers.
I'm in Washington state, so I'm obviously biased wine-wise, but I agree that central California produces excellent Pinots. I'll keep the rest of my wine opinions to myself... 🍷

Something tells me we'll have an 'off-campus' wet BAF / Tour de Chambre at the Best Western. Not that I would in any way facilitate this by having a few beers in the fridge. 🙂
I just booked my room at Best Western. I haven't bought airfare yet, but at least I have a crash pad.

Can I wear my I 💕 Bose shirts?
I've been thinking Friday: SoCal to Rutherford; Sat and Sun burn my fingers; Mon,Tue. Wed drink vino in Napa. Thursday: drive back.
The issue will be that the drive from Petaluma to Rutherford is twisty ( different valleys, I recall ) so I got to be careful on my drinking.

Same as last time, I'll be bringing several bottles of El Yucateco Black Label hot sauce to the lunch, in the hope that visitors from NZ/OZ/TAZ will cease their whining about the lack of Decent Spice on their $17,000 + $10 lunch. El Yucateco Black is NOT the absolutely hottest but definitely the most highly revered. At least in my neighborhood.
Want the very hottest of the hot? Visit Amazon.com, buy something made with Ghost Peppers (example) , and wrap it in four layers of ziplock baggie before putting it in your luggage. Or buy an Amazon hot sauce containing Carolina Reaper peppers (example 2) and protect your luggage even more carefully.
Are you frightened to put bottles of liquid hot sauce in your luggage and check it through international customs? Buy it from Amazon and have them ship it to me in California. Whatever you ship to my house, I'll transport to the Festival by automobile, and you won't need to worry about airlines or Transportation Safety Administration or customs. PM me for the ship-to address.

Sure, pack that stuff in your carry-on luggage. When the dogs come by to sniff for "other substances" they'll run from your bag.
If you like chips with your heat, Paqui has two excellent flavors: Ghost Pepper (which I love) and their OneChipChallenge which is a rotating secret blend of Carolina Reaper and...who knows what else. Many videos on YouTube with folks trying to take on the onechipchallenge. It's no joke.

LOL <snort>$17,000 + $10 lunch.
Apparently there's now a pepper that's even hotter than the reaper.

'Tis a free country. Or so I'm told. Certain limitations and restrictions apply. May not be available in all states...Can I wear my I 💕 Bose shirts?
I plan to proudly be sporting the Maple Leaf. 🍁

There is this service. You will still need to hire a ride for the last mile(s) to your lodging. The drop-off location for Petaluma is very close to the event center and lodgings.
