Burn In speakercable

I do. There's nothing there, down to -180dB.

Nice, which electron microscope give you dB readings?

As I have said, There is a million dollars waiting for you.

You must read more, I can't believe you are still clinging to that scam.

Where is energy stored in a metal? Can it be that working the metal has created a certain internal tension in it, that will release itself if coaxed? Even room temperature can coax it a little, cryoing can coax it, allot. Tempering may make it worse, and annealing might make it better. Any thoughts, anyone? How about you metal experts out there?

I'm quite sure you have something interesting there, I've made the suggestion of movement inside the conductors quite long ago (based on using my hearing instruments and some logic) but was laughed at, same as now, at least you can show some pictures. 😉

Andre,
I have to give you credit, you’re sort of a last man standing here in the camp of “the difference can be made obvious (is large) to anyone”, “my wife can hear it when walking in the door”, etc. You mention certain IC’s several times care to share a brand in particular? I would love to have you show me this effect.

Scott, the cables where I've heard the largest differences (which is quite strange to me) were long-crystal cables. I would have thought the effect should have been less at least. 😕 They also take much longer to reach their optimum, especially the silver ones.

Interconnects I have tested were the Maestro, Master Reference, Myth and Legend SE. To give you an idea, I've compared a played in Master Ref (copper) cable with a new Legend (silver) cable in a blind test, the Master ref won every time (about six tests). After two weeks on the pink noise generator, the Legend became my favourite cable up to now, pity about the price though.

With digital cables, I've tried both the Executive and Director, the Director were unimpressive when new and WOW after a week of burn in, both times compared to my existing cable.

Speaker cables, MS, SMS and US2 Ultima silver.

Burn in........

I call on the moderator(s) of this forum.
Please all of us know that this is hype, same as snake oil sales etc.
I am begging you to delete this thread, isolate the debutants that start this type of discussion, there have been many and to publish a warning that, even if free speach is guaranteed, false and purposely spread stupidities will be ruthlessly and immediately deleted.
I would also like to see the publishers banned for a period...

I and many among us are truly fed up with hoaxes!

Sincerely,

I would not wish to see a thread moderated in that way... people believe what they believe, some are happy believeing... and just maybe, amongst all the claim and counter claim some nuggets of useful information emerge.

If you object to the thread then "unsubscribe" from it 🙂

Do I understand correctly that after a week of burn in these digital cables sound better?
And how did you burn in these cables? Perhaps with large ones and zeroes?

I had the same reaction. 😉

I connected it to the SPDIF output of my TV decoder and AV Processor for a week then tried it again between my CDP and Processor. I still prefered the analog outputs though, so never used it afterwards.

It is possible that I understand it incorrectly, I do believe the surface area of a conductor is important though.

As I said, you got hold of the wrong end of the stick.

The applications where such tests would offer a benefit, is for instance EDM and the like, and that is due to completely different reasons.
Electrically, it makes no difference at the frequencies we frequent.

Magura 🙂

Et tu, SY?

This has nothing to do you as a person, this has to do with unlikely technical assertions which are presented without any evidence whatever. If I tell you that I have a machine that reads your thoughts, can't demonstrate it to you or anyone else, then start quoting irrelevant sections of neurology texts, you'd be pretty unimpressed. You might still like me and respect my knowledge of physics, but you'd be pretty convinced that I was off the rails.
