Me too! 🙂
I think ordering will be on the usual first-come, first-served basis via the Twisted Pear website.
Looking forward to someOrdering boards today. Here is the PCB in case there any last minute requests. 🙂

Looks like I will be refreshing this page every 5mins here on! 😀I think ordering will be on the usual first-come, first-served basis via the Twisted Pear website.
Windows only cause issues when they aren't open when the pc goes through it......

I am traveling at the moment - but I will post schematics and as much detail as I can in the next day or two. 🙂
Cost for the board will be comparable to our other bare PCBs.
Brian will need comment on the kit cost based on the parts etc... he is just getting some of the details you all are. So give him some time. 🙂

Hello Russ,
I saw the card and looking at the location of the connector to the BIII seems not to be suitable because the two boards would find themselves perpendicular.
How you thought you place them?
For me the location of the BIII exchange it with the 'SPDIF.
I hope I have not said something stupid but I think also for the interference the digital part so it would be more distant from the analog part if all the components are put in the same box.
Have a nice day.

guglielmope: I think perpendicular was intended in this case. And notice that cape will not be aligned with BBB and there will be some additional distance between BBB and DAC.
Switching position with SPDIF connector would prevent access to USB, HDMI, SDcard slot on the BBB.

Can you elaborate on how you anticipate supplying this product; I had formed the impression that it was going to be a fully populated board? A bare board needing soldering of smd components is problematic for me.
Cheers
Ray

Twisted Pear tend to supply boards with the SMD components pre-installed. If you visit their website, you'll see how their products are supplied.
Kits come with all components well-labelled. Not quite as idiot-proof as, say Velleman kits, but not far off.

Yes, I'm familiar and that's what I expected and hoped for but the statement from Russ is ambiguous.

It will be a fully assembled board.
We may also offer it as a bare board for those interested in building it themselves, no decided yet.
We need to make some decisions in regards to which clocks we will be supplying. As you can see from the board picture above, there are mounting options for flexibility.
Some input here would be good, but we will also test some different options in-house before making a decision.
For the first round (at least), I will be building the boards, so there is greater flexibility.

Phew, that's a relief! Thanks Brian.

How about 2 options on the clocks? Cost no object and good performance but price sensitive? (Unless this overly complicates the kit.) my guess is that there are 2 main interests in the BBB/cape-- use as an audio device and use as an input module for I2S DACs.
If they offer a typical board-only option, or board with only hard to get (in qty 1) parts, I'm sure you could have many clock options 🙂.

You always need a Dac to use the bbb/botic, no audio out in the cape.
All great news.We may also offer it as a bare board for those interested in building it themselves, no decided yet.
For myself the bare board option works best!
How about UFLs at the clocks and/or simply leave an option for no clocks in so that the owner may choose them...
