The transformer story...
First pic is the set up with 2 NTC's.
Then the multimeter is set in the 20VAC range.
Pics of transformer 1 to 4. The transformers with the connectors were used in the amp and lived for a short while... One faulty transformer is rare. Four faulty transformers is a miracle...

How are your NXV's doing?
I have not much spare time, but started disassembling my Hawk A-50 mono's and will be using those cabinets, transformers and heat sinks. Those transformers do 2x 27 VAC. Could be a bit more, but will be enough to be able to judge the quality of the amps. They are 500VA each though... 🙂
Well, always nice to have working transformers 🙂
I think you're in for a pleasant surprise when you fire up your amps for the first time! 🙂

good to hear that you can play the amp again 🙂.
i've heard the nxv-300 and nxv-203PS, the 300 was good, but the newer 203PS is better. i cant tell the difference in 15mins i put them in my system with nc400.
the nxv300 was noticeably warmer and bloated bass, but the 203 is clean and mean 🙂

Thanks, but I have to wait a while before I can play again because I just sent the HYPEX PS back to them for repairs.
For me the difference between the NXV500r2 and NXV200 short form is quite simple. The NXV500 does everything better than my NXV200. But if your speakers are not as powerhungry as mine you will have an absolutely magnificant amp if you buy a NXV200!

But I should have done this. (see picture)
I see the picture is missing. Let's try again...

I saw on my Hypex account that the power supplies are repaired so I guess I can expect them back this week and I can have another try...

Good luck! I am also waiting for some parts to arrive... I have one channel running and using that one with the 2 loudspeakers in parallel (2 ohms...) sounds promising! 🙂
I've got one power supply up and running. I guess the other one will function also. Hopefully I will connect the amps tonight ore else this weekend. I'm afraid I have to work first 😛
Biasing one channel. When turning on the amp I adjusted to 5 mV between source pin and speaker output and nearly 2V the 10 Ohm 5W resistor in the plus supply line. Picture is after 10 minutes. (- on the red multimeter is because I have the leads mixed up in the multimeter). After the amp stabilizes I will adjust to 5 mV (2V over the resistor) again.

Two channels up and running 😀 Bad thing is I caught up with otitis and the flu 😡 so I'm not feeling very happy. Still I tried to get an impression and as far as I can tell right now I'm still extremely happy with these amps!
