Budget AMT comparison

Sometimes it makes more sense to just use a pair of large domes instead.

I am also guilty of chasing exotic tweeters and not paying enough attention to recent soft dome tweeters.
At my place, I have lots of ribbons, planars, AMT's, compression drivers, metal domes but not much in the way of high-quality soft domes.
Some of the soft domes I have heard recently and from review measurements and sound clips indicate a subject worth revisiting. I am especially impressed with Audiocraftsmen speakers, direct sales model from Canada using Seas Crescendo T29CF soft domes..

I haven't had much time to fuss with these new Dayton AMT HR4. I did throw a quick dsp high pass on them and listened with a combination of Eminence Beta 8A. These are a good combo and really have nice imaging with a good sense of depth and correct width proportions. They would go good with some D7608 mid domes and have fitting horizontal dispersion characteristics being so large in width. Its been really challenging trying to get measurments with the neighbors dogs (woofers lol) constantly barking.

I'm working with the same AMT at the moment. Seems it is rather sensitive to use. Using a resistor across it is imperative for damping its loose unhindered motion. I am going to be playing with different capacitors too because the Airborne 7502 was so capable at resolving the differences. I'll post my thoughts when I post the build thread here.
