BTSB with Tube Buffer - HyperSET GB

Hi Folks, my supplier of 6N1P matched NOS tubes is currently out of stock so I will be offering the HyperSET without tubes for now. Price has been reduced from $325 to $299.

You can order your own matched pair E88CC/6DJ8/6922 or 6N1P and use with this buffer. They should all work. My favorite are 6N1P and J&J E88CC.

Hi Viet,

what is the current consumption of the HyperSET (@230vac)? Just asking, because I would like to place the "final" fuse into the amp.
Now I use 2,5A because of the PSU, but maybe it's to much.
Many thanks in advance.

Hi. Anyone has matched the HyperSET to the ICE1200 power module like in the Emerald amp? Can someone help me with the ICE module pins to select? I built mine but keep getting a rather loud noise at power on. It is like the HyperSET start mute delay is not long enough, so the tube have not enough time to stabilize, or I’m using the wrong start pins on the ICE interface. Any help appreciated.

Btw the ICE1200 sound by itself is rather flat, but open up quite nicely with the tube buffer engaged, it will be a very nice amp once I can make it work.

Hi,
HyperSET connector J401 is what you need, it enables/disables the ICE amp.
1 goes to ICE DVDD (ICE P101 pin 1), 2 goes to ICE AMP DISABLE (ICE P101 pin 10), 3 goes to ICE GND AUX (ICE P101 pin 2).
Viet will correct if I'm wrong, but my ICE works this way.

I hope, my answer and that of Viet were helpful...

The 6N2P is essentially the russian equivalent to a 12AX7/ECC83. It only works with 6.3V supplies I believe and filament current is ~ 350mA. Pinout of 6N2P and 12AX7 are not backwards compatible however.

6N2P's are not 6922's/6DJ8's/6N23P and not 6N1P. Mu is dramatically different between the 6N1P and 6N2P amongst other things.

Best,
Anand.
