xrk971, I Googled "analog op amp Linkwitz transform circuit" and unfortunately it's beyond my capabilities. I love the idea but don't reckon I'd find one on eBay.

I wondered how you got your Daytons to go to 30hz in such a small box.

Due to the limitations of my office/desk the subs will be about 24cm behind the A7s. I was hoping that Xing them at 100hz would make delay less critical.

Thanks! Mack

They do dig pretty deep with the Linkwitz transform - but you need a driver with plenty of xmax to allow the active EQ that makes this possible. The natural frequency of my box is 51Hz with a Q of 0.63. The LT takes that and transforms it to 31Hz with Q of 0.71 - which takes almost 9dB of boost at 30Hz. You will be max SPL limited though so there is a price to pay. For me, 102dB max SPL is enough for near field use.

Here is my current response with no infrasonic high pass filter (there is a bit of room gain at 30Hz causing the peak):

For 8in Classic it has only 4.5mm xmax vs 7mm. That is something you need lots of for a FAST woofer.

As we all know there isno standard for Xmax so it is hard to directly compare them. Also Xmec is usually not specified. Also worthnoting that since PE gets the Daytons made by whoever is cheapest that even within this brand Xmax specs may not be directly compared.

About that crossover thingie I found... Is there a possible replacement something like this?
TPA3116D2 50W+50W+100W 2.1 Channels OPA2604 80HZ-500HZ Amplifier Completed Board - Free Shipping - ThanksBuyer

They say subwoofer is variable from 80Hz to 500Hz. Interesting. At least if the power is enough

These do not work well. There is no high pass on the stereo channels so they run full range and get hammered by the bass that should be going to just the sub. The sub xo frequency really doesn't change despite what they claim. It sort of changes because the bass amplitude is varied so the slope edge moves. At least that was my experience.
