SE's overrated. I'd go PP with this baby!
Max Plate dissipation 18,000W
Max grid dissipation 500W
Filament Current.... 78A - SEVENTY-EIGHT AMPERE!
My goodness, someone using this monster in an amp really needs help.... It puts the GM100 to shame with its puny filament current of 18A 😀
This thing will be dissipating about 1.7kW in its filament alone!

Bah, forget your little tube. How about this for a change:

3CW150000H3
Plate dissipation 150,000 W
Grid dissipation: 1500 W
Heater: 10 V, 312 A
Now that should be able to drive my headphones!

You and your damn tetrodes. I'll stick to pure triode power...
I'd be wearing a lead shield around my crotch any time the 22.5 kV is applied to that beast. Enjoy your X-rays, boyz.
When I first read the 'Boris...' in your signature, I momentarily thought you were referring to me (my first name is Borislav), and I was on my way of composing a witty reply...
If you really want a tetrode, try this guy:

2.8 MegaWatts. Can't ... stop ... drooling ...

I wouldn't do it. The sockets are a little hard to find.

I posted this link to another forum, Headwize, and I love quake's reply:

😀In a past life I worked on high power transmitters....Used similar tubes....Troubleshooting was a breeze - just look for traces of vaporized components!

Sounds like the old Yaesu and Kenwood tranceivers - cathode ans screen resistors literally vaporize when the HAM's accidently tried to load up 80M while still on the 20M dipole 😀

Raad the "fine-print"

Did you notice in the suggested operating conditions at the bottom of the page that it (or a pair?) need 120kW of grid drive to make them go full blast?Prune said:If you really want a tetrode, try this guy:

maybe a push pull of 1000 KT88 will do to drive these in my guitar amp? You know, I play little loud...
The problem is: how will I wind my own power transformer? and the output one? should I use a 1-meter diameter wire? Glass insulated?
This thing is getting insane....
Why don't we make this the "Put your largest valve here" kind of thread? Like, you know, "Mine is bigger than yours...."

Cuz I would lose right away... I'll raise you a pair of 4CX250R (highest Pd), a C3J (highest power capacity) and an RK-836 (DHT diode, ST-18 or whatever envelope; largest).

@Giaime
I can find you the trannies but I don't know how to send them to you!!!
I'll ask UPS tommorow.OK?
😀

Thank you! But I already found a 380kV-10kV 2MW tranny behind my house, in an abandoned factory.... Might be useful... but that's just the filament amp....
