yes Joe.
The darn TB in the 12" cub e with a PR on goes to 28HZ with the Solen Sub 100 or 150 watts for those who do not know that AMP.
After all it is only a 8" sub that is less than $40.00
Not bad for the price

Have you done distortion testing on the new Revelator drivers from Scan-Speak?
Thanks.
No I have not. From measurements otheres have made though, they tend to do very well. Especially the woofers.

I'm trying to figure out how to choose a driver. When I look at the frequency response graphs of some expensive (scan speak eg) drivers, they don't look very good. They are lineair up to a certain point, but above 2K most of the mid/woofers have large peaks, that seem difficult to filter out.
The Peerless csx and hds range have much less of these peaks.
The waterfall plots also look pretty good.
Does that mean hey are better drivers than the SS? Probably not, because everyone says they are superior.
What other measurements are important then?
Is a good driver always an easy to filter driver? one that can be used with a 6dB filter?

I know your frustration exactly! But there is not a clear cut answer to your question. This is because different applications call for different qualities in drivers. A better question to ask would be "how can I choose a superiour driver for my application where I will XXXXXXXXX". There are many different drivers, and all serve some purpose. Some would say that the distortion that is built into the driver is a very important factor. I would agree here. However, some would disagree and pay USD1,000 for a driver that has considerable distortion, but possesses other qualities which will work well with their specific electronics (work well is a matter of taste, mind you).

Have you heard anything about how these compare to the Seas Excell drivers, where the distortion data is kindly published?
Thanks!
