Hi Nelsom
I don't know if you mentioned it elsewhere or not. Is this going to be a single gain stage design?

"Beast with a Thousand JFETs" as integrated circuit in the outline of Sanken's 2SC2922 or in the outline of TO-3 - what about this?
The question is, from which value of pieces the costs therefore acceptable.
I have heard about Zetex (now "DIODES") and low costs by retatively low pieces of custom made IC's, but I don't know exactly.

I believe I will have some sort of front end for it, something
with a little voltage gain.
😎
Does that mean it will be something like an F4 with voltage gain provided by the preamp, or are you saying it will have voltage gain on the amp?I believe I will have some sort of front end for it, something

It will have voltage gain. The board you saw was simply
a follower output stage, and will be driven by a voltage
gain stage.

I'll let you know when I finish the 2nd channel.
😎
You know this raises a good point i have often contemplated. lets say your building a new amp design. do you build a stereo amp/pair or build one. listen to it in mono, make adjustments, modifications then when finalized build the 2nd channel to match??
(sorry to hijack the thread)
B & K 501A FET transistor curve tracer
By chance I have found this:
B & K 501A mint FET transistor curve tracer, for Osh Russia - JPCTRADE X Yahoo! Auction
perhaps helpful for this project and some others, where selecting is necessary.
Owner's Manual therefore:

I always work with 2 channels.

that means that beast isn't real beast - just 500 jfets/ch
sissy amp

( ok - I know that from first post - 588 of them ..... )
Since it's simply an exercise in scale, I already know quite a
bit about the sound. The board in the photo can be 2 channels,
one channel, or half a channel. I have 5 boards.

Meaning you already have one working ?

So, spill the beans will you?
All in good time. Like Julian Schwinger, I like to present the
edifice after all the scaffolding is removed. This reinforces my
reputation as a miracle worker.
