It literally takes (less than) 10 minutes to hook that driver up and test it on the dats. Your test leads or slightly imperfect methods won’t make a catastrophic difference in the results.

Hi there me old bhoy,I have never noticed anything positive or any DIY stuff
I see what you're suggesting there, so...
I am currently building a pair of XRK's RS225 WAW/FAST...here's my latest post about a DIY project for you:
Hi X,
I will pretty much never sit in any sweet spot listening to these. Most of my listening is in the same room 15m x 15m while doing other stuff, mostly standing or walking around. Do you think the full range under the woofer is still an OK alignment, or would they be better inverted? I'd prefer to leave them as designed...
I will probably have to use the Scan Speak driver as the Peerless is pretty much NLA except in bulk.
Cheers
Stuey

I am also building a pair of Frugel Horn Mk3's for which the wood is already CNC'd and in my spare room and I have the Markaudio drivers ready and waiting.
I've just finished the fourth iteration of the crossover for my self-built Peerless/Vifa two way floorstanders, after refining my measurement technique with REW, using Xsim.
I am also half way through a Salas/Pass Labs preamplifier build; replacing the drivers and power outputs on a Kenwood KA3500; repairing a Philips Black Tulip preamplifier with intermittent selector problems; building another two pairs of speakers of my own design (slow going but going nevertheless); recommissioning an Onkyo CP700 direct drive turntable; and rewiring an R200 Rega Planar tonearm.
I scratch-built a turntable from Bunnings Okuame using the motor from a JVC belt drive T/T and a Jelco tonearm to use while the above is being done.
I have also acquired the correct square section carbon fibre tubing with which I intend to build a Supatrac Blackbird tonearm.
These are the projects that came to mind; there are others. Like adding DC detection to my self-built SKA GB150....I just remembered another small project.
However, I don't feel the need to post a stream of consciousness on the forum about every project thought I've ever had, or ask for help every step of the way.
Regards,
Stuey

I only mentioned the 17kg driver, you guys started jumping up and down so don't turn it back on meIt literally takes (less than) 10 minutes to hook that driver up and test it on the dats. Your test leads or slightly imperfect methods won’t make a catastrophic difference in the results.

I merely explained why I have few DIY posts compared to you, after you alluded that I didn't post DIY content. Sorry mods, no more from me here. 🙄

Weird. Just perform simple measurements or stop the atypical ‘gas lighting’ people who are interested in reality. I’m so confused by your bs…. And have enough issues with own attempts to understand sound
Not true, you came into the thread to take a pot shot. No other contribution intent!I merely explained why I have few DIY posts compared to you, after you alluded that I didn't post DIY content. Sorry mods, no more from me here. 🙄
Booger, I don't understand this gaslighting thing. I have always spoken well to you and would appreciate the same. I have too many open projects and moving them forward a bit at a time where I can snatch some time away from full-time motheringWeird. I'll try again to take it back to the last update. A better version of FreeCAD is out, a plus for the projects. Learning the new package through the development of the water toy. My workshop is now equipped with a heavy-duty stand to mount all of my project drivers including the 17kg driver
That was my last update and I request that you guys stop this old biddy nonsense that you three have carried on since that mention
You three have added three pages of bs contending over an untested driver and making claims by reading inconsistent specs!
Anyway, the heavy work in the project is still parked. I damaged the new healed areas on my lower left leg where new skin had formed over the burns over last years big injury while getting the stand home and moving it around. Will only be messing with the smaller drivers and CAD and such for a while yet
@Stuey, kit building and replication is not my cup of tea. And I don't need your permission to request help when needed or share my own developments and findings back

This is my fav 7" sub driver next to the racer 8. This is from the z623. The racer has a larger magnet on it
This is another one of the project drivers for the Tiny40s. This is an attempt to create a refined version of the z623 so the goal is a very small but capable subwoofer that goes better than the z623 cab. A tidy lil desktop 2.1 much more presentable than the z623 and better performance

Winding this one down. Moving all the OT to everything else and keeping and moving forward the dedicated existing project threads for Racer 8, Volcano subs, Cub Sandwich, Tiny40s and Heaving Bed
The watercraft and booth build that will host the sound systems will be in the OT thread. The Volcano Soundsystem will prolly get a dedicated project at some point, as the goal posts have shifted a bit there. I just request folks to keep an open mind about unusual systems and not jump the gun too much in premature nonsense. Some things take time when there are too many things, but all are interesting enough to run through the paces and slashing into the results of tests, measurements and recordings
