…...we could also use the "real deal"?
But now I already have two Nutubes waiting for PCBs……..

Western Electric is back with 300B triodes new production 2018 ~ 19

Incredible news ! Thanks Meper 🙂
B1 with Korg together with Vfet Push-pull amp is plenty good imho.

Yes, it has been a news for quite a while now…..they are delayed as expected…..but let us see if real WE300B will come out. They say they has some of the old materials to build an original WE300B. Some experts says that it is not possible because the knowledge on how it was done......is all gone. But it seems they have the old equipment to do it. The question is the materials…...to make it real real.....I have read that the materials used is quite "exotic" and some "ingredients" may not be allowed to be used today. But very interesting. I get a mail when there is something new. I think they hope I will buy a pair of WE300B...….and maybe I will……but first we have to finish the Nutube amp!
Yes…but first we have to finish the Nutube amp!

BTW Thomas Mayer aka VinylSavor & Elrog in Germany produce bunch of DHTriodes with thoriated tungsten filaments
Excellent Meper !
🙂
we need back in production SIT's and power jfet's.
Maybe we do use unknow today technology in the future :
semiconductors with nanomaterials or hybrid components half vacuum tube half transistor 😀

If there are so many audiophile "tube people" that it can pay a brand new factory for WE300B tubes.....then why not.....maybe we should call the CEO of Toshiba and tell him to produce JFETs again…...or SONY or who made the "funny stuff"…..back then…..
Twin triode was glued to the pcb for better sleep 😀

I am a bit confused about the highlighted parts of the circuit. Looking at the photos of the original B1 with Korg triode these parts are not repeated for each channel. Should F1 pins together with F3 pins of the Nutube be connected to 475 resistor and 1000uF capacitor? F2 and G go to ground?

Thanks. Ok, I think I can see it now, but in that case one of the power supply caps seems to be missing (the one after 270 resistor)? Also, looking at the pictures I think there are 220uF caps parallel to 2200uF caps in power supply?
It's very long life tube 30,000 hours and in preamp circuit do easy work 🙂
Thats impressive, it will outlive power supply caps http://www.rubycon.co.jp/en/products/alumi/pdf/life.pdf , no need for extra complexity

Looking forward to giving this a try. Just so I'm clear: Pete's board + Nelson's parts values (I'll have to use 170s) = jfet buffer + tube gain + H2?
B1 with Korg triode is surely an unusual circuit and worth trying. Yes, you do get a buffer, some tube gain and some desirable H2 🙂

I think 2SK170 or 2SK370 (same chip different package) will work fine.
I built a Pass B1. I want to insert Pete Millet's Korg Nutube buffer board in order to get gain.
Is it as simple as connecting the outputs of one board to input of the other? For example connect the Pass buffer output to the input of Pete Millet's board and then use the Nutube buffer output to drive the amp.
Thank You

Yes, it's that simple. Even simpler if you just put a volume control in
front of the PM Korg board.
