... but for some reason I am getting some 60Hz noise skewing the measurements. I was thinking of using a different power supply for the E-MU as I think this may be the source. It’s a dell laptop which is notorious for noise but it happens even with the laptop on battery power. Anybody else who uses the E-MU have any ideas?

I don't have an 0404, but on the 0202 there is a ground lift switch on the bottom, do you have/have you tried that?

Yes there is a ground switch on the bottom of the 0404 and that seems to have done the trick. I can't believe I had not noticed it before. Thank you!
