That is problem .... I use SMD 2SC3649/2SA1419 and TO-126 (through-hole) TTA004/TTC004 Toshiba's for modern designs.VAS 2sa1381 has been sold by digikey in the past, but they didn't know at 7AM EDT of any in stock at any manufacturer
There are many old stock 3503/1381 TO-126's left on ebay and elseware , but I like designing with non-obsolete semi's.

The "10 minute challenge" of building a true Hi-fi amp on a breadboard - simpleamp !
This is the first one I built in 2008. I was like "this is better than my receiver ! " , never looked back.
PS - this is the "great-grandfather" of the badger/wolverine.

It’s been quite some time since I last visited the forums. I spent nearly six months traveling, and now I’ll be staying in Europe for a while. During my travels, I came across a local electronics store where I found some transistors, which are supposedly original, and I couldn’t resist picking them up.
First, I’d like to express my gratitude for all the fantastic project ideas you shared with me previously. Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to find the exact transistors required for those projects. Therefore, I’m hoping to learn if the ones I recently bought could be suitable replacements for the components specified in the "gift" project from ostripper
I will share the exact transistors I purchased, along with their quantities, in a follow-up post.
Thank you in advance for your support!
Best regards,

I also found some vintage Tropical Fish capacitors. I know they are quite old, but their colors are really cool, and I would love to incorporate some of them into my amplifier design.
Do you think it would be feasible to use these capacitors in my project? Any advice or insights would be greatly appreciated!

As far as I know, those capacitors are old-fashioned MKT capacitors (a.k.a. polyester or polyethylene terephtalate capacitors), and they usually still work fine after many decades of storage. That's quite unlike paper capacitors, those usually absorb water and then become leaky.
