ive bough a few pairs of Hivi RT2HADo they have fixed their quality control problem at Hivi and Aurum Cantus ? New units of the two tweeters talked above are said to have bad concistency fab while spreaded for the Hivi's likes on market into different iterations at Dayton, Monacor, Beston : same plant! Myths ?
@markbakk , vertical directivity or also off-axis ?
never heard about the QC issues...
some stated there is a difference between old batch and newest one, though I do not know the year it changed. read this several times here and elswhere...
Edit, I do not know if this is the same T Gravsen is talking about : http://www.troelsgravesen.dk/SWANS_RT2H-A.htm

used by Crescendo Acoustic, AMR speakers, ect
Lovely driver
I have obtained the following to evaluate:
I don’t mind having a relatively narrow “sweet spot” as long as the off-axis roll off is relatively smooth. This system is used in an open concept living space and I prefer to have the highs a bit rolled off while i’m in the kitchen or at my work desk. I noticed I was annoyed by the wide dispersion of dome tweeters on my other speakers while spending time off-axis, while other components such as midrange/woofers maintain a more narrow beam.
- Ciare CT440 (good response, super sensitive, but narrow)
- Beyma CP25 (decent dispersion, smooth response, but will i hate it as much as the CP21?)
- JBL 2405 Alnico - (the holy grail, but large response variation between the two units i got, diaphragms look real) awaiting return from alnico recharge.

The Ciare CT440 is surprisingly difficult to integrate… no matter what i tried, I was getting far more comb filtering than any other driver i’ve ever tried, I could control it by changing the physical alignment of the driver but the best locations are not practical ones. Furthermore the beam is narrow, I mean SUPER narrow. I figured it couldn’t be any narrower than the Fostex FT17H (dispersion I find acceptable) but I figured WRONG! too bad, it’s such beautifully-made tweeter.
The Beyma CP25, the one I didn’t want to like, is pretty good…. crossover came together super easy, nice wide dispersion to match the other horn, with a compensated slope, it’s ruler-flat out the harshness the CP21F has… It’s the ugliest one though and will make my system look even more PA-inspired lol
Still waiting in the recharged 2405!
