Ah. Of course he did!I'm pretty sure, at least in the 2nd book (..Engineers), Niven put stabilizing thrusters on Ringworld (to hush critical fans).
(I've never read the 2nd book - didn't even know it existed until I read about it on this thread.)
I enjoyed Niven's novels from the Puppeteer/ Tnuctip/ Thrint universe, too. More fantasy than science fiction, but very enjoyable to read.Tnuctipun?
The sheer scope of Niven's imagination is amazing. What an incredibly creative mind!
Writers like Niven ruined "Star Wars" for me. The movie was so mundane and juvenile and unimaginative by comparison. Imprisoned princesses? Uber-villains? Swashbuckling space-jockeys? Come on! This is just soap-opera set in space ("space opera"), not real science fiction!

You meant to write mythical leaves, didn't you? 😀But then again in the mythical country called Australia all trees, except for some in Tasmania, keep their leaves all year round.

They didn't even mention the "top secret" NASA trained Ninja Penguins. They will kill anyone that sees the top secret Ice Ring that keeps the water from running off the planet.
