Strange, the flat earth folk of the 19th century certainly believed that Australia existed, and used the time taken to travel there by steamship as a good indication of the size of the earth.

A lot of internet data travels between continents with cables laid straight across the ocean floor.🙂 No need for space communication unless you happen to be one of those in the space shuttles.
As an aside I have been on a rooftop during snowy days to knock snow off the satellite dishes to avoid datafeed loss. Satellite feeds can have poor ping times but at least you do not have the "Bubba Backhoe" problem.

It surely has a circle of gravity in the centerline of the torus, not a center of gravity like ordinary planets. I hope the Moon never falls through.
