Hi all,
I was wondering if anyone knows the input impedance for the MC phono stage of the preamp?
Not too much info about this vintage preamp.
Many thanks,
Aaron

In this forum is was measured to be 1.4kΩ, if I read correctly.

Thanks John,
Yes, that how I read it as well, 1.4kΩ. Looks like I'll have to work with that number.

More than one version of this preamp has been made,
with differences in the phono RIAA stage also.

I have the one with the MM & MC if that helps? Apart from that how do I know which version do I have?
Looking at the schematic I think both MM & MC share the same phono input (although there are two pairs of RCAs). I will probably need to use impedance/capacitance plugs to match the cartridge and use the gain control to adjust. So I think the default is 47kΩ.

The notation on the schematic indicates that for MC either 1kΩ or 1k5Ω is paralleled with the 47kΩ input termination used for MM. That would imply an input impedance ~980Ω or ~1k45Ω.
