Tarnish Resistance
To increase the tarnish resistance of the silver plating, supplementary coatings such as a painting or powder coating can be recommended depending on subsequent finishing steps and solderability.
Corrosion Protection
A nickel undercoat with silver plating can be used for applications where corrosion protection is important.

If you are curious, lots of data on the net.
I have 1993 made contactor strips whose silver plating is intact...after years of constant use.

Regardless of the type of surface plating, there’s another observation that I’d like to make that I hope will fill you all with joy.
Please see the image below – the contacts show on the left are from a so-called audio grade C13 socket, a standard Schruter C13 on the right – please consider the design of the contact that opens when the male plug is inserted – the male pin will open the socket part but because of its width it doesn’t make contact with the whole internal surface are the V shaped design results in a relatively small contact area. If you observe the contact from the ‘premium’ connector on the left you will see that – due to a different design – the contact area is much greater and therefore better, mechanically and therefore electrically
This may also explain why my original Schruter terminated lead almost pulled it’s self out of the amplifier!

I have some Neutrik XLRs older than that and they too are still perfectly functional.
They just incorporate wipers which clean off the tarnish every time you plug them in.
Works very well for micrpophone leads which are regularly plugged and unplugged.
For more permanent connections I simply use their gold plated plugs.

See the amp ratings too. The flat one may have a higher rating, and larger conductor area.
German equipment is famously complicated, at times needlessly.

That's an interesting comparison between the "audio grade" and Schurter female sockets.the contact area is much greater and therefore better, mechanically and therefore electrically
However, your quest is for an audio grade male IEC socket where the pins would require to have the same standard dimensions as those of a Schurter.
Perhaps that's why IEC male sockets are not a prime candidate for audio grade improvement.
Obviously, since you are employing a DC blocking device in your system, you are concerned with the quality of the AC mains supply in your home - and I can see why that concern might extend to the quality of the power connectors.
DC Block – audiolab
Note that Audiolab states that if only one DC Block is purchased, it should be used with your Vena amp. It is recommended that additional units be purchased to use with other electronics in your system. It is not recommended that you split the output from the DC block to power two items of equipment as is your intention.
