Oh PLEASE, NOT ANOTHER CABLE THREAD!!!!audio cables seems to split the earth in two, one part of those who can hear and detect anything and the other part who can not hear anything, what is the real truth here?
this article about kimber kable naked and its very steep price (in my world that is), how can this kabel not be better in sonic then a simple lamp cord?

Like Moses with water ....audio cables seems to split the earth in two,
Why not, audio cables are fun! Another aspect of it is, why would someone credible or not want look stupid and describe things like they are facts when they are just made up, what can this person be winning by doing this? Money is one thing, but not all are getting money for telling lies about how cables sounds or not. Or having golden ears is like having a super power, half the world will love you for it and the other half will hate you for it?Oh PLEASE, NOT ANOTHER CABLE THREAD!!!!

Not fun at all, most turn angry bitter quickly and some have even been closed by Moderation, go figure. Why not, audio cables are fun! Nobody has golden ears so there´s nothing to "envy".
Regarding speaker cables: Hans (Polak) found something remarkable in the Zip cord for speaker test, starting at ~ Post #204.
I can only recommend: take a cheap speaker cable (e.g. zip cord) and make the modification suggested in the thread (I can help with that).
Listen without the modification, then with it.
I made two speaker cables for myself and one for a friend. The result was remarkable.

Actually none of the audiophiles will hear a difference in the trial. But some will think that they do hear a difference and keep the cables. Some others won't hear a difference but keep the cables anyway. So the seller often wins the trials.Martin Pipe sensibly concludes “If you have a high-end system, give the (cables) a trial. If you hear no difference, don’t buy them. It’s as simple as that.”

and even if the cables are returned, the seller has the audiophile's money for a period of time.

I would say is a bit... controversial opinion.Nothing wrong with alumimium wire at all
"Nothing wrong with aluminium wire" is controversial but my comment about using Steel isn't? LMAO
A quick calculation says a 2 meter interconnect made from steel wire would be about 100R. The first input in my amp uses a 300R grid stopper, so who cares if the IC is 100R? After all it's signal, not power 🙂

I simply cannot recommend enough that you do a properly double-blind listing test set up with some friends. I've spent 35 years in the audio industry. I've heard every aspect to this ignorant argument. And I'll pass double-blind listing test repeatedly! I have done it many times. I would say the people who cannot hear differences in cables should definitely find a brand new hobby! I worked in a high-end audio store oh, and we did double listening tests constantly. Every single employee at the store that listen to our systems daily could hear the differences repeatedly on double blind listening test, and correctly identify the cables. If we're trying to be perfectly Fair here oh, our systems were capable of the utmost resolution. They were open Windows to the truth. Maybe listeners who cannot hear the differences have systems that cannot display the differences. Well my post May ruffle some feathers here oh, it doesn't remove the truth of my experience. Listen for yourself is my advice
How did you set up the test? The time it took to switch cables would be longer than acoustic memory... Did you rig up relays? If so, didn't the relays "colour" the sound or something? Just saying, for 99.99% of people, there's NO difference.
Even in a car with all the noise from the electrical system, I've never needed to pay more than 20$ for the RCA cables. As long as they were shielded, they worked well enough. No alternator whine through the speakers etc.
The bottom line is if you think you can hear a difference worth 17000 quid, good for you if you're happy to spend the money. Personally, I'd rather buy a used BMW M3 for that kind of dosh and use the 10$ cables I'm using now. 😛
The expensive cables are far past the point of diminishing returns to me.

Thought for the day: Why are hyper-expensive interconnects needed for music reproduction when they are not used in the recording process?audio cables seems to split the earth in two, one part of those who can hear and detect anything and the other part who can not hear anything, what is the real truth here?
You must be close to unique. If it were really this simple and obvious then cable manufacturers' marketing departments would be falling over themselves to publish such positive results. To my knowledge, they do not...And I'll pass double-blind listing test repeatedly! I have done it many times.
Can't be that much.2 meter interconnect made from steel wire would be about 100R
Take steel as 7X copper the same size. I would expect 1 or 2 ohms in a 2m cable. So 14 Ohms max.
Now take steel as 1/10th the cost of copper, and spend the same amount. Steel is actually better! (As we know by stringing power lines in the woods.)
Steel will have significantly more inductance. (I won't even get into the 4-letter word because it is BS and gets threads locked.)
But why? Other than being a swine to terminate and some issues with mechanical properties why should Al not make a fine interconnect? I happily listen to speakers with Al ribbons...I would say is a bit... controversial opinion.
We would need the protocol to see if this is valid or anecdote of course.I simply cannot recommend enough that you do a properly double-blind listing test set up with some friends.
Yeah right that old mouldy argument that your setup is better than ours.If we're trying to be perfectly Fair here oh, our systems were capable of the utmost resolution. They were open Windows to the truth. Maybe listeners who cannot hear the differences have systems that cannot display the differences.
Anecdote is not truth much as segments of the industry would like us to believe it is.Well my post May ruffle some feathers here oh, it doesn't remove the truth of my experience. Listen for yourself is my advice

And my vintage Wharfedale drivers have aluminium voice coils which have certain advantages over copper.
