Attenuation of Ribbon tweeter: Lpad or simple resistor?

Ive built a few DIY efforts over the years, and though an LPAD has advantages over a simple resistor, Ive never experienced problems.

I understand that the extra series R the attenuated driver 'system' will show an increased Qes. Eg a dome tweeter with little or no rear chamber. Which brings me to my question.

With its lower inductance, and I assume a low BL (or I^2BL or whatever it is) and a low inductance. Does a ribbon tweeter require an L pad?*

Is this true?

In which case is a lpad More or Less desirable/necessary?

Afaik, the reason to use an L-pad is to preserve the impedance that the crossover sees.

The change in "Q" is largely due to the change in DF from the amp. Of course if ur running with an amp that already starts with a DF of "one" (a zero feedback tube amp for example) not much may change.

Maybe the best way to go is simply biamping... :D
