What's the speaker in the picture? 😕
Isn't that the oldschool RCA....
yup , it is (LC 1B)
😉
Honestly, I don't think they measure them 100% correctly. I have a spare 300mm 5U with .2 coefficient, but I doubt it will be enough for this amp...
dunno for 300mm .......... probably it'll be just enough for one channel , according to my experience with 4 and 5U/400mm

Since I have to order some parts from Digikey I'll probably get some of these.
Nylon Spacers
Perfect fit and cost almost nothing. 😀

Dan

coming from the SITamp ( resitor and choke loaded) , i will say this one sounds different, perhaps the push pull ? or the Capacitorless output ? more precise, and direct sounds but lacks the lush of the single ends ones..
is there a simple trick to transform this push pull amp into single ended keeping no output cap ? it can be be the perfect mix 🙄

Maybe in the next articles Nelson is writing about these VFETs ? Just wait...😀
Dear Juanitox, put an CCS on the drain, use +-Power supply for divide the supply by half and close to ground potential watching for DC on the Drain electrode, there are some schema with this topology and you can use somebody else avoiding waste Vfet.
Is for SE but OCL also OTL.

Juanitox, how do you like the bass, which the VFETs are producing?
My sister sent trannies from de US-Canada GB, I hope to enjoy soon the basses from this amp.

i was thinking let the 2SJ28 act as CCS , and just rewiring the jensen acting as 1:2 step up in single ended wiring but i just can compute how to make this 😀
PS : the Bass are very good , fast and powerful ( with a 22000uf after mosfet ) . but the medium seems to polite for my taste , perhaps i'm just not used to low distorsions amps 🙂

You could add .1 ohms to the source pin of the j28 this is similar to the F6, it will add some second harmonic.
Let us know how it works for you.
One serious question.
Does have real evidence that second harmonic is the source of this special sound in the SE amplifiers?

thanks for all your suggestions , i will try it soon anyway i 'have just found that it is the 2SK10/2SJ74 buffer i don't like not the VFet push pull... sorry to pollute the thread 🙄
Possibly we have here the same problem as described in F6 first time clearly.
We all use SITs possibly with different transconductance, mix them in the upper and lower place...resulting in much or less k2, negative or positive phase.
And we ask each other for the sound......🙂
May be the problem is this time not so heavy because the transconductance is so small...
So Bottes advice is good!
Distortion analyzer is also good....🙂

No pollution, interesting aspect!
🙂
so finally , i have rewired the secondary of the jensen to go single ended with the 2SK82 and don't make any other change .. sounds damn good , same gain ( the jensen becoming a 1:2 transfo). i will stay like that waiting for the last papa Pass surprise 😀
permaneder, do you by any chance have a link to these jumpers you need for RCA/XLR switching? The outer diameter of the hoses is a little more than 4mm, so I drill 4.2mm holes for the fixing bolts into the profiles. You will not need to insulate the legs (Gate and Source) of the VFETs, if you drill all holes accurately. The diameter of those holes is 3.5mm.
Transformers arrived this morning. OMG!
The hoses from Germany arrived too.
Sound Happy Where are you my friend camon to this thread.
We miss you

You will find them everywhere, for example at search for sl 1x36g 2,54 at reichelt elektronik and MPE 149-2-002-F0 nur 0,05 €: Jumper 2,54 mm, geschlossen, schwarz bei reichelt elektronik

Hi Dady 😀
Great !
Amigo you have pm and I wish You happy building

Simple quality switch on-off on J1, J2 jumpers place and accesible on outside panel avoid opened amp if needs for change 🙂

Request for interest -
One thing worth mentioning, the diyAudio store is looking into stocking the Jensen transformers.
This way sourcing the transformer will be easy.
Good news of the day is for diyers in Asia Oceania and Europe who want buy 123 FLPCH Jensens transformers for CSX1 maybe with LSK Jfet's at one time that is discoussion to buy them in DiyAudio Store if people be interested just write to 6L6 with this link

Ah, Soundhappy glad to have you back !😀
I have been busy🙂
I'll post some pics of my CSX1 with new bigger heatsinks. Two SK88s and even 3 SK88s didn't do the job.
These Austerlitz KS 216 are expensive but excellent heatsinks. Baseplate 15mm, 0.4K/W a piece. Heatsinks now become max 46C and VFETs 61C on top. I'll settle for that.
