Well the only thing we can agree JP is that listening to is a cultural thing, so habits indeed matter. It's like food, some like spices, etc.
Send me please an ES9039 toy and I will say you. I liked the little dac you made with Subbu after I modded it to slam more and weigth more, so it can be related to tastes and live music education perhaps ! Sinad never gave me an anchor to judge the quality of the sound. I will say it is okay for me at >>= 15 bits if the tones looks like natural to hear!
If I believe the influencers, an USB stick at 100 bucks with good SINAD is just what you need. My hifi experience is saying the opposit.
This SINAD mantra is like green being the new black. You look for green to say you finally found the good black... tipically objectivism, imo but seems to work good marketing wise. Maybe I just listen to too much 16 bits recordings.

The new Moleing 50 DX has no HDMI ARC... for this price it is not acceptable as one migth want to listen to TV with headphone !
If you watch from 60 years the TV w/o the sound, please write to the brand support, something is not corret ! 🙂
Things has evolved, some have neighboors. Notice it can not work if you watch the headphone ears : you will have no pictures and that is normal.

It should sound close to the real thing, i found impossible to discern any difference in the signal looking at a snapshot of the waveform through à 192khz24bit analyser and the original sample played throught old dacs,
But i can clearly hear important differences between dacs, and output filters, oversampling factor and the digital filter has a pronounced impact , but i cannot measure it.
It all is into miscropic 100khz noises which might resonate in some ways with the music...

I could also test for jitter, noise, many thd factors and there was not correlation with perceived sound quality in objective parameters such as:
Quality of timbre, intelligibility of speech and resolution of complex speech, complex voices separation and ease of following background as well as perceived spacial accuracy and realism.

Apart the overshoot of the dac current output, the first pole of the I/V feedback happens where you put it, but non only this low pass is low slope, but also it becomes inductive at x100 to x1000 after -F3.
According the op amp you use it can still make your op amp oscilllate and affect phase. And you have the harmonics too.

The signal without filter is the same except for the high frequency garbage which gets attenuated -3 db after the 3 poles opamp filter,
This is verified with oscilloscope , but the sound of the signal straight after a one pole filter sounds very bad,
It also sounds horribly thin and lacking definition and substance if using a passive resistance of say 120R
Without OS it is very bad too, with 8x OS the bass increase, however the soundstage , details diminish substantially.

The problem may be with using opamp filters. RF coming out of dacs can be difficult for opamps to handle, particularly older opamp designs. Even for newer opamps, sometimes well designed passive filters may be a better solution, at least in some respects. You do need to make sure filters are well matched for both channels. Not good if they have different phase responses in the audio band.

No, on mine and NOS with just Cf in the feedback sounds more than well. I of course don't use active sallen Key : my ears said so despite my rigth brain said the Sallen Key is better . Call that experience ! 🙂 My cheap DAC sounds better than most NOS DAC at least this is what said to me today a fellow from this forum. He had toppings, many PCM NOS and a friend came with an Holo Spring or Cyan (can't remember) too in his system high end OB.
And it doesn't use the too much colored AD811, while it is not bad with it either ! But hey it doen't use 78005 or cheap regs...
