I was thinking that a really fun demo could be done if a guitarist and/or vocalist with some real talent were willing- arrange a song that involves trading lines, record one in advance, and for the performance, the musician would trade lines with the recording. A dynamic A-B comparison, so to speak.

I sure I'm not alone in that I have a LOT of stuff that I'd like to sell or swap. Rather then just bring everything and hope - is there away we can use the website to list what we have and then gauge interest from others before the day? And maybe also say what we are looking for too.

Hi James, interesting idea, we'll have a look at what we can do, though I do like the idea of sorting through piles of stuff for a hidden gem.

Things are a little complicated, or maybe they aren't 🙂
I was in contact with someone who I thought had a passing interesting in DIY amps and also an employee of a large and well respected loudspeaker manufacturer. However after chatting with him it turns out I knew him better than I realised and that he was part of the DIY community - small world! He was wanting to come to this DIY event long before I approached him. Sadly Al didn't realise that when he posted that tidbit and neither did I when I emailed him about this so nobody's fault.
To keep things simple we've agreed that we've just got another DIY'er coming along who's company we can enjoy. He's happy to share with us some of his dayjob insights but I think he's equally an avid DIY'er as the rest of us so rather than saying company "x" is coming, as I originally planned, its a case of a DIY'er who happens to work for company "x" is coming.
Sorry for the confusion but at least that's another face with a lot of experience we can enjoy the company of!
