That's incorrect sir. I would need $26k and a name of the company at least.
That's a wish that came true. My 2016 mustang GT is much faster then Mustangs of years past and gets considerably better mileage and boasts performance that older Mustangs can only dream of. So I'm not sure that is the best example. Just saying. Love that car. That's like saying "I wish Ford could make a Mustang that goes faster and gets better mileage."
These two things are mutually exclusive.
Yea we aren't making instruments after all.Besides I would not want my cabinet material to be 'tonally improved' but to be tonally inert.
The smaller one seems to be better than the newer one. The horns seem to be made from some type of brass that is normally used for casting cowbells. And they don't have the least bit of edge termination.

My guess is 18 sound 8NMB420. If you run the numbers for an oversized box it can go low but at the cost of step response. Altec and JBL didn't seem to care much about oversizing.
I do also think that it is a B&C driver from the look of the basket and not an 18s 8NMB420. But the Unison Research Max mini uses an 8nmb420.

After reconsidering it looks like the 8NDL51 for 50hzish in 28 lter box.My guess is 18 sound 8NMB420. If you run the numbers for an oversized box it can go low but at the cost of step response. Altec and JBL didn't seem to care much about oversizing.

Soundgil, a Taiwanese company, founded by an (ex-)engineer of the German high-end company MBL Akustikgeräte.
It is the 8NDL51, there's no other B&C 8" with a similar vented magnet structure. After reconsidering it looks like the 8NDL51 for 50hzish in 28 lter box.
18k is a ridiculous amount of money for what you get.

There are a lot of youtube clips too. The founder of the company seems to be an audiophile darling that gets segments on ABC where they fawn all over him. He seems to think $9,000.00 dollars is an accessible and reasonable price point. Truth be told the speaker probably sounds all right maybe even great but $9,000.00 great? Not so sure about that. The Youtube clips did not impress.
A low Qts woofer is less of an issue when the output impedance of your single ended amp is a few ohms.. Put a few ohms in series with a low Qts woofer and you get a higher Qts system. 😉 Put a big cap in series.. Keep your midrange sensitivity while increasing the Q at lower frequencies..
The Youtube clips did not impress.
Large directivity mismatch between the woofer and the horn. At least on-axis response is mostly linear. Could be worse overall.

- Anyone recognize this woofer?
