Now I need to inspect a few...

I have Bit's on my desk

Received ok many thanks Andy 😀

Henk & Anthony, the overseas shipments would not of been possible if it were not for the help that you have volunteered, I hope that your members are as grateful for your help as I am. :wave2:

It is my intention to get them all in the post by Monday . :c_flag:

Spartacus & SineEra you requested that I supply the chips and fit them for you but both of you have so far failed to respond to my Emails regarding what chip (ad817 or ad825) that you require fitting to your pub's I will keep hold of your order until you contact me. . :cop:

Blitz, Bsyyu & Michi124. You have paid to have the chips fitted but I have received no chips from any of you, if they remain un-received by Monday 24th of may morning the Europe order will be posted and will include your pcb's without chips fitted. :cop:

It was my intention to get them in the post today.

I arrived at the post office at 16:45 and lined up for 25 minutes before getting to the counter (three people behind the counter only one serving).

Upon arrival at the counter I explained that I have one overseas parcel that I require signing for and insuring at £500 and 12 parcels that are uk with and average insurance value of £70 that also must be signed for.

I am then given slips to fill in with about enough room for a thumb print. Thirteen slips later I issue the parcels for weighing and I am then informed that the twelve uk parcels would only be insured for £30 with the attached forms so I would need to fill in these OTHER forms (why give me the wrong ones in the first place) they proceed then to point out that they close in 1.5 min’s.

Henk fortunately the counter assistant must have been listening to me for the first 30 seconds as they gave me the correct form for your order so your is on route.

So sorry UK guys but I will fill in the OTHER forms tonight and go to a different post office tomorrow.

For those of you reading this from outside rip off Britain. YES THE SERVICE IN THIS LITTLE ISLAND IS APPALLING.

Andrew the North American shipment arrived at my office this morning. I will be sending out parcels over the next 2 weeks, I am behind on some other Forum projects due to the number of hours spent at work lately. Please bear with me.

Anthony

I am making up a 5V board first to try this with clocks. Can someone explain why the AD817 video opamp is used in place of the 825? Will the 797 work as well?😕 😕

The data sheet for the op-amps will tell you the answer; the AD825 isn't specced to run at 5V, the AD817 is. Since the op-amp supply is bootstrapped from the reg o/p you need an error amp that will start up and work at 5V.

Hence the AD797 isn't suitable either.

I'll also re-iterate this again, DO NOT USE the AD797 in this reg. It might give you nice looking specs, but it's far less stable and far more importantly it sounds worse than the cheaper AD825 for most analogue applications.

Andy.
