I've got a bit more stuff on my shelves and with time I'll show it all.😉 So Rodd, you've got a Matsu****a component in your system after all.🙂
Pioneer Goodies!!
Peter!
You still have the TIMER control unit too! That baby brings back memories, man! I am searching for the RT909 service manual (have that fiche somewhere around here!!)...my RH take up reel motor is stalled. I'll need to scope this one out
I had the top end model Pioneer preamp (same family) as well...man, did that thing have some beautiful aluminum, and excellent control feel!

Revox has the reputation of being the better reel to reel machines
Neutron B.
I have schematic for RT 909, interested?😉
From the old days I find Pioneer metalwork the most appealing.

Re: Technics RS-1500
The RS1500 is a beautiful machine, and an excellent performer to boot. I'd love to own one, but I have too many R2Rs now.
B77 loggers: I spoke to the service guy at Syntec about modifying these when I was offered some a while back. Quote was about $1k iirc. They needed all the motors done. I passed and picked up a nice PR99 instead.
Cheers

909 Repair!
Peter!
The schematic would be a Godsend! I have a few boxes remaining to search, but you know how Murphy's Law goes...
I have Revox hubs on my RT909 (directly from Thor at Studer-Revox); I like them better than the black plastic Pioneer ones. Those NAB Revox hubs are a beautiful spun piece of aluminum.

Hi guys,
I want to thank each one of you for the nice pics of your (old) hifi gear. I had a few emotional moment while reading and looking at your posts. I even had tears in my eyes when I saw the Sansui RA-500 Reverberation Amp.(old memories) boy that hurts........
A good friend of mine who unfortunately is not among us anymore had one, and his lady did not know what to do with it and the Sansui went to the trash container.
If you guys want to get rid of one (if you have one)please let me know.
Ones again thank you for this wonderfull journey trough (old) hifi gear.
Sincerely,
(José) Audiofanatic 🙁

Seeing that Revox does bring back..
the old times for me too.
I remember the first time I played with one (really early 80's). I was working for a new PBS/NPR station down in the swamp of SW Florida. This was before the days of satellite distribution for NPR, so they had a brand new rack of 16 of them. Since the station mostly rebroadcast the signal of its mother station, only one or two of them were ever really used. I dreamed of making one disappear to go with the new stereo system I had just bought... A pair of Dahlquist's and a Hafler DH500. Which for a 19 year old kid was a whole bunch of money. The Revox sure would have sounded good in that system.

Hi
Just thought I'd share a pic with you from a film I just got developed. This is my Dad's old Marantz PM310 integrated amp. It had had a dead right channel for some time so I decided to see if I could fix it. It turned out that all I needed to do was clean the contacts of input selector switch with rubbing alcohol, and the dead channel came to life! You can see the switch in the next photo, its located near the input sockets and is mechanically coupled to the front panel control by a flat piece of metal which slides though a plastic jacket.
Also, check out the uninsulated mains connections 😱
Cheers,
Tim.
