Hi,

i built my tt myself (Holger posted a link to my gallery of other diy tts above), you can read about the details on www.krishu.de > hifi > turntable

i built an unipivot tonearm wich performs at least significantly better than a Rega arm. I tried several approaches of motors and controls, ended up with a (internally) PLL regulated cassette tape deck motor, supplied with a standard LM317 regulatet P/S.

My Schroederclone (which is the best design for diy i suppose) is still in progress, too many projects at once.

my future plans regarding my turntable concern only motors. I want to try expensive Maxon motors and Papst motors later on. I got some response from the motor manufacturers and they told me which turntable manufacturers buy their stuff there 😉 The main problem with most motors is that these have ball bearings which are no-go for turntables. and the voltage-regulated maxon motors are difficult get speed-stable.

Cheers
Christian.
