kicker subs rule but i didnt know if i should go for another car audio sub, i had the kicker c10 ina band pass box and that is what killed the 15" usd sub that i had and it took hardly any power to move it too.. so i might again .. . but i want a ported box that punches il be using it for theater use and clean listening also.. im looking for a effician sub but if i need to illl put power into it no porblem.. my yamaha amp that i rebuilt runs my 15" with ease no problems but i want all fet and i would likea class a amp for my top end i have been foolin with some ideas for my new satelite speakers or towers.. havent decided..

Okay, I stand corrected. It is the N-Channel amp that you have already built and will be powering the sub, and the AV800 you are in the process of building now.

Anyhow, the following is from Anthony Holton's site. This is for the N-Channel:

"The Amplifier featured below is a quasi complementary HEXFET N-Channel Power Amplifier. It develops 260 Watts RMS into 8 Ohms and over 400 Watt RMS into 4 Ohms."

Therefore, it is clear that it does make a difference if your speaker is 4 ohm or 8 ohm. The 4 ohm speaker will have a top volume more than 2 dB higher than the 8 ohm. You should primarily think in terms of 4 ohm, unless an 8 ohm speaker has considerably better performance.
