Well, it seems a member in the solid-state section has actually decided to do something about this issue !!You might get a couple here and there, but no steady supply for serious manufacturing.

And of course yours 😀!It's used in some of Peavey's guitar amps as I recall.
Tom
I have six channels and love them!
Not sure what’s being patented in the OP attachments. I don’t even know if those circuits would work. My Op-Amp theory is a bit rusty but the circuit I saw shows DC blocked +/- inputs so where does the input bias current come from?
I have a question.
I watched Cambridge Audio AXA25 which uses LM3886.
But on photos I see only one chip. But as far as I can see Lm3886 is a mono device.
How does this amp function in stereo with just one chip?
I would like to convert this one to current drive (a la Adason).
But I do not know of a stereo schematic for LM3886 - does it exist?

I would guess it is not using the LM3886, but some TI stereo chip amp instead like the LM1876 or LM4766?
In post 16 in this thread its said that the AXA25 also is lm3886 driven.

The axa35 is, too. In tests the axa25 is said to sound better than the bigger brother.
However I wonder how they do it with just one heatsink and only one chip. If its the 3886.

Guys, I think it might be LM2876 for AXA35 and LM1876 for AXA25, unless some one has a pic of AXA35 and 25 without the front heatsink. The axa35 is, too. In tests the axa25 is said to sound better than the bigger brother.
this is just my doubt, I am not saying anyone is wrong.
Regarding Post # 16 - I would like to correct my self, had AXA 35 in mind.
Hi,
For does looking for the LM3886 found that DIGI-KEY still have 162 parts.
