Amplifier Recommendation Requested

My perspective is that the LM3875 amp sounds good for what it is, but compared with the amps I've built for myself it unquestionably falls short. My parents are devoted music lovers and when they visit me they are enthralled by the quality of the sound my stereos produce. I'm better at this hobby than I was when their amp was built, and if I can raise the bar, why not?

If your parents like it that much, why don't you build a second copy of whatever you built for yourself?

I have 2 amp recommendations; shaan's PeeCeeBee v4H PeeCeeBee V4H GB and apexaudio AX14 https://www.diyaudio.com/forums/sol...mate-fidelity-amplifier-1147.html#post5846902. Both of these amps are excellent and should meet your criteria.

Dirttracker73:

Thanks -- I'll look at both of them.

Tromperie:

Good idea, though I sort of want to build something from scratch again.

MarcelvdG:

Funny you should suggest that -- in fact, I built four identical Gainclones. One is the core of my kitchen system, two went to a friend (who gave one to his parents) and the fourth went to my parents. I am considering upgrading my kitchen system as well, but I may go in a different direction.

All:

Thank you for the input. I'll report back on the direction taken in due course.

Regards,
