The designer took the circuits he liked from a Mac 30, Eico HF89, and Dynaco, and put them together. He found flaws in each circuit, but great circuit elements he wanted to impement. A Dycintosh...He builds 4 per year. He sells them wholesale for 11-12k, depending on parts prices. Transformers and caps cost neatly 2k. Raw parts are nearly 5-6k. VCAPS are used, either Cutf, or Tftn. Sprague in the power supply. All silver/copper Teflon military wire is used. Military parts are used and matched to 3 decima l places. The ampIis devoid of color. Like an ARC Ref 110 with body. On Kharma 3.2FE....simply stunning sound. A huge stage, startling dynamics, the best I have heard them sound. It smoked my RM200, Silver 90, Carver Cherry 180, and many others .Great with Wilson Sophias. Custom amps can have appeal.

That's a kool amp..What kind of amp is that.

It is my prototype. GU-50 output tubes (Soviet military copies of designed by Telefunken LS-50), true pentodes. Preamp, phase splitter, and driver tubes are directly coupled, with servo for stability of working points and stability on low frequencies. Local feedbacks around output tubes make pentodes better than triodes, more linear and less output resistance, but higher power, and less impact of Miller capacitance. Stabilized by MOSFETs voltages for screen grids, preamp, bias, and filament of small tubes, for extra low hum and better stability. B+ is shunted by film caps. Nested feedbacks and anti-clipping optical limiters. Transformer balanced XLR inputs, switchable to unbalanced RCA sockets, 0 dBV, 10 (50) K. Outputs: 4 and 8 Ohm (binding posts), and 16 Ohm (TS outputs). Light, but rugged aluminium construction. Thermal regime for constant 2x80W output power.
