Try manufacturing a modern car without plastic. 😉I think that carbide is one of the unsung heroes of the modern world, try manufacturing a car with HSS.

That's an odd chalenge to give someone in England, our idea of a modern car still involves an ash frame skinned in alloy, plus we like to go backwards, see if you can find the guy who converted his landrover to run on steam; the most British thing I've ever seen. The last car I had, the screen wash was a rubber bulb you squished to pump a jet at the windscreen.Try manufacturing a modern car without
I still remember that episode of The Troubleshooter where Sir John Harvey Jones was advising Morgan cars on how to improve their productivity. By any modern standard, Morgan was a basket case. But his suggestions were basically rebuked with a sharp "Shant!" from the owners, justified by the fact that Morgan had a very long wait list at the time, and they attributed this high demand to the fact that their production process was so old fashioned!
The trouble shooter was a good series, now I'm older I think I'd apprecate it much more. There was a wheeler dealer episode on a Morgan, once they had the body off, it was like they had taken a wardrobe of an iron bedstead, not much crash protection. Still not as bad as when the steering wheel came off during a TV road test.
