A real cheap M1 copy, know to fire 'out of battery' (no jaw left)
Couldn't place it in his garage; he hate guns didn't fit; why did he have it.

Oh, cuz my DUMB *** was probably going to need it after do a foolish thing like posting all his stuff on the net.

But the law's & punishment here are still 'Wild West'.
Go shoot the governor; but don't do something stupid like 'burglary/trespass of habitat'. We don't even joke about that.
If you don't get shot dead, one could face up to 99yrs.

It's crazy. I'm not saying I agree with it !

But with the right to use deadly force to 1)protect one's personal property, 2)in the pursuit of it's recovery 3) including a 3rd person's property :
Surest way to get yourself killed or imprisoned here.

Too cool

I've always knew where Dad kept these. So they were at the top of my list.
Playing with them was taboo, downright risky.
I still look over shoulder for Dad with these out.

Believe, the Commander had a pair (1 for backup) and the Lt.Cmd(Dad) kept a pair elsewhere and also think the tradition of releasing command of the helm involved the headpieces being retained to the dismissing officer, honoring his service......But, haven't confirmed that and may never be sure.
