When I can get an accounting of them, I'd sure like you to review
When you get a list of numbers post them here. I and others can identify the ones we have experience with and tell you what they can be used for. If you put the list into something like Excel you can cut and paste everyone's responses into the spreadsheet. At least that's how I organize my tubes.
but from what we know about George, there's always time for tubes
Not anytime soon. I have very limited space for the next year and my storage is not here. I went to an Amish flea market today. I passed on a tube caddy stuffed with tubes for $40. I bought 4 NOS sweep tubes from another caddy for $1 each. I also found 2 original IRC resistor cabinets full of vintage carbon composition resistors for $20, and a Stanley Clarke CD for $1. I already took it all out to my storage location.

The power supply caps in the old McIntosh amps survive time surprisingly well. I run a 50-W2 which is older than the Mc30, it's fine (thank goodness). Used to run an Mc30 on the bench before that, it too had original caps.
So, if you bring it up slow, it may be just fine.
I'd be more concerned about leaky coupling caps, drifted carbon comp resistors and broken resistors. Oh and replace the selenium rectifier(s) in the bias supply automatically.
These are terrific sounding amps. Cleaning and repairing without mods will not harm the "collector" value. Only a few museum types will care about everything being original, but if the chassis is not mint now, it probably makes no difference at all.
I'd probably decide if I like the MC30 or MC40 better, sell one and buy another to get a stereo pair! 😀
Enjoy ur Dad's stuff, he must have been an interesting fellow at the least.

I've never had a stacked power filter cap (single or dual stage) fail from electrolytic decay or leakage without an evident short or open. But that's only includes operational units, though.
Point is detectability BEFORE power up.
MY Heathkit IM-28 is sweet for out of circuit restoration and less risky to gauge health of cap and performance while bringing em back up to power BEFORE in circuit power is ever applied.
I think I said that right.
Initially, required loading of any class A output with your valued speakers is well......nothing like a shorted supply cap running wild to invert ones cones.
Of course I'm no expert and half of what I said might only be half right being self taught with previous tube units.
One thing for sure My Velleman K8010 KT88 Monoblocks won't ever get needed/respectable mods now
doubt a MC30 + MC40 trade for 2nd MC75 would interest anyone.
trade 30 & 75 for pair of 40's ....left with (3) 40's hmmmm
No way I'd trade 75 for (2) 30's
But 75 for 30 & 40 ....................well 2 match quad
THE 30 & 40 HAVE INTERESTING TEXAS INSTRUMENTS property & spec tags dated '81.
Corporate party amps ?

Probably lab amps...
Anyhow I would expect you could sell a 40 and buy a 30 or the other way around. These amps pull a lot of money now and are in demand, especially in Asia.
For the amps, to form the caps, I'd make a solid state replacement for the rectifier tube(s) and use a variac and watch the ripple with a scope. No other tubes in the amp required, just do not ever bring the variac past 3/4 line voltage. Let it run at lower voltage for a while and incrementally bring it up.
I'd not trade, btw, I'd sell, IF I wanted another amp to make a pair... after determining which of them I actually liked the best - that's not so clear, as power is not really the determining factor if it were me.

Wood skills... I've never matched. I need CNC to even compete with his.
Thought this 3cubic foot was of folded horn design, but seeing those baffle cutouts tells me Thiele tuned port. Of course its mono.
Tuned ? That's a 15" woof, volume is rather small for 15" but it's Fs is a ?? Hardwood sides would tend would to 'ring'.
It was defiantly on my list and its older than I am.

NOS JBL N1200 2-Way Crossovers (Feq.Dividing Networks🙄)
Really thought these were cheapee's; they barely made the trip.
Getting hard to tell what's valuable these days.

Tired of this **** yet?
Yes. I've already called you more than a few names, none of which you would use in mixed company. Thankfully most start - lucky...

Ya, can't tell you how sorry we are for you.

Very cool stash, imo.
The N1200s will fetch good money, they look minty. 😀
Lots of neat stuff to see, keep it coming..

Kevin, don't encourage him. Most of the members want his address already...
