Replace those L-pads ASAP. They are negatively impacting your sound quality. You'll be surprised once they're gone.

Yup. Contact Dave Slagle and talk to him about replacing them with non-saturable inductors. That's what Altec used.

Don't replace the L-Pad before you've sound a level that you can live with. The small L-Pads are junk, those bigger ones aren't too bad. It can take some time and experimentation to find what works best with your speakers and room.

Once you've found that setting and it's stable, then look at better options. Very nice work, BTW.

you can measure them with ab ohm meter. Parts express has a lot of resistor values that work well to replace the L-Pad
