Hey guys! I replaced my air core woofer coil for a much cheaper ferrite core with smaller resistance and i have very reggae bass now🙂 So if anyone is not completely sure if this OB can give a real strong bass - i assure you it can🙂. I use 12mH coils, which sets the XO point a but lower for woofer. (instead of earlier 8mH)

Btw does anyone know how could I open my APT 80 from the back? I heard in the B. Aeriel thread it can be done and i am very curious about it!

regarding APT- you can't open it ........ ferofluid and construction as plain dome tweet - calote is on front , not on back

just buy two more and place them rear firing

I avoided a reply but instead took the brand new digital camera out of my bag. I promised her one, so this was the right moment.

further bass response extension

Hey guys, i made a little test my friend suggested i do.

To my surprise i got a much deeper bass from the left Beta 15 so next thing i do when i get some money is to replace wings with loger ones (thinking about 60cm) and if possible i'd like to move the bass speaker lower (closer to the ground).

So Hakunin - you actually bought and built the kit you had posted earlier. Good for you!

Yes, side wings do make a difference. In the sizes and dimension that most of us are using, it is more the mid bass than real low end. But we tend to think of that as "bass" anyhow.

I don't see how you can get the 15 much closer to the floor without touching it! 🙂

Of course the left one has better bass.......

Look at the passive radiator behind it!

Ha ha, so that's how you get warm bass.
Thanks for that link to Martin Kings paper ttan98. I prefer to crossover at a lower freq. The idea being to have the main driver go down to the lowest freq on guitar and similarly tuned instruments - 82 Hz. Can be tricky on a 6".
