Hello,
I didn`t think of the PP fee..i thought that was given that it will be added to the total..It`s pretty standard to do so..
Koja, did you get to check on shipping 2 packages to me insted of one?

yeah, that looks like an oversight on my part 🙁
koja, why don't you just send a 2nd small invoice where required to make up the difference? I'm sure all would agree that it makes no sense for you to be losing $$ after all the work you put in on this. Yeah, pp will take a small cut unless the transfer is designated as a gift.

Koja, message sent. Thanks! I look forward to getting your boards.
Back when I did the KSA-50 and 100 board shipments I don't remember super high expenses like some of you guys are having. I used flat rate priority mail envelopes for just about everyone except for a few... I don't know if they have flat rate package in Canada or not though...

well thanks everybody for the kind words.
I see a lot of invoices getting paid today.
I will be making all international shipments tomorrow (Sun) from Canada. I will go to a different post office but i checked pricing online and it is true (16.50 is for registering it and then the balance is calculated per weight; 2 boards for $10.30 (100-200g); 4 boards for 20.60 (200-500g)). I attached here the bill for the first six shipments to the total of $191.70 (so that you do not think I am BSing you; some will recognize their tracking numbers on it).
I still have no idea what I will do for gwrskien who has 8 boards (even after kindly giving up 2 for Mark Allen). I may have to ask about yours in the States too 😕.
for the U.S. guys: Monday I will go by my office to pick up something and will stop by the post office and ship yours from Michigan.
Have a great weekend!

Perhaps you can ship his boards from the USA for less. If you want to you can feel free to use my return mail address in case they should get sent back as you will likely need a USA return address. Should they come back I can return them to you. All the hundreds of boards I shipped priority mail and none were registered and none were lost. I sent quite a few to Scandanavian addresses and as far south as South Africa and to India.

MA: yes I believe I learnt my lesson. next time (if there will be one) I will order spare boards and ship everything with no tracking and just replace any in the unlikely case they get lost. this approach would have been far more sensible.
p.s. not sure what datasheet the above post is refering to.

Hello,
I`ve bought a lot of stuff from Tea-Bag since i became a member here, close to $1000, and he ships non registered and i have recived all shipments with no problems..he usually ship in one or two packages. I think it might be cheaper to do 2 packages from the US, non registered, and i am ok with that.
Thank`s again for all the work you put into this group buy.

Gisle, no worry. I repackaged yours and will take it to the States on Monday and do non-registered, two envelopes or both taped together, whichever is cheaper. (I also both a few things from Tea and only now appreciate the amount of work he puts into these GBs).
I also cannot wait to get over the shipping and get back to soldering 🙂.

update
well, it looks like we are getting there.
I shipped today from the U.S. to everybody who got their coordinates over to me so far, (Bob E.: sorry but you missed this round by a few hours, bah; I should be back to work on Jan5 and can mail yours then).
>>to those who have not paid up yet: I will be catching up on invoicing tonight from home, so when you see your invoice please pay asap.
I shipped from the US overseas as well because they are cheaper than Canada Post (who officially SUCK). all registered, except for gwrskien and tome (who can pay after they received the boards).
p.s. btw yoke seems to be struggling with paying up the high postal rate of $38 for his boards, so I am thinking: if nobody screws me up by not paying at all and there is a little balance left (like I think the US guys paid a few bucks more since it ended up domestic male for them, maybe we can shave $20 off yoke's bill as a Xmass present? that is if everybody's fine with that??
hohoho?)

Hi guys. Just an update on the FET testing. I got all 310 FETs tested. I pushed and got them done in 3 days. Probably about 15hrs. The good news is that the test set worked well and I had good precision with reproducibility of control FETs within 1mv over the 200 610s and the 110 9610s. I haven't dug into the data yet but the basic data for the 610s is an average Vgs of 3.903v at 20ma and a temp. of 30c. Minimum was 3.856 and max 3.966 for a spread of 110mv. With 200 FETs and 110mv between high and low there are lots of nearly perfect matches in there.
I got the boards today from Koja and they look great! I still have not got contact info. for JohnGeneva and tadek at this point. I plan to ship before the new year for as many as possible. I will invoice when I know the final cost.

AP build discussion
as you receive the boards please start moving the build discussion to the AP builder's thread. here I start:

the biggest drawback: Papa voiced AlephP with the big and expensive Wima MKP caps 😱. those are rare pieces for which the manufacturer actually provided data as tested over the full audio spectrum. I guess Papa values his time and only works with the best of the components, (and I sort of share the same philosophy when it comes to my time 🙂).
For historical accuracy, Papa voiced the Aleph P (and a number of other products) with Panasonic polyester film caps. ECQ-E1106JF or ECQ-E1106KF are the current parts. They are still about $2-3 a piece and still readily available. Pass Labs seemed to use mainly Panasonic caps and Dale RN series resistors in gear of that era. These are good quality industrial parts and sound fine, as the reviews of the commercial product attest. As you can see from the attached pic of a P1.7 motherboard there are no Wima caps used.
The use of Wima MKP parts originates from diy versions of the preamp.
