Thanks all for the thoughtful comments and suggestions. The cost differentials here are (relatively, at least for me) fairly minor. At least on the transformers it’s a few bucks either way. And I’m looking to use as much as possible from diyaudio store so no custom cases for me. I do want the shielded transformers so I’m going to go with dual AS-4220. 400VA and 20V seems like a good sweet spot, and the 500VA don’t come shielded. I really appreciate all the wisdom here and the time people spend helping and I’m following the J Noob thread as well.
Hey @JMacII, I will be interested to see how yours comes together with the dual transformers. Over on the J Noob thread, we'll be using a single transformer in the Deluxe 4U chassis. Will be looking forward to seeing how yours lays out internally compared to ours. BTW, have you ordered all the other parts on the BOMs? We're going to undertake that next week, I'm hoping, so any lessons from your order would be welcome over on the other thread!
