Hi, I'm Andrea and I'm a new forumer!
First of all sorry for my english!!!
I'm a total beginner but I would try to build an Aleph30.
I think that i use a Chipamp's PCB.
The first problem that I have is the kind of toroidal transformer.
Could 600VA power be enough? Or 800Va should be better?
And for secondary tension?
Thank you!

though , nowadays is better to choose either Aleph J from Diyaudio Store , or my Babelfish J

Ok, i will read about it!
Is J more power than 30? I must drive 4 ohm speakers (now...) 87 DB but I listen at low volume!

I second that motion!
I built an Aleph 30 from those very boards. The Aleph J is a better and newer Aleph model with tons more support on this forum. I am not that familiar with Zen Mod's Babelfish J through ignorance, but I am sure he will support you throughout your build if you decide on it.
If I was you I would consider the F6 with its 50 watts into 4 ohms especially with 87db speakers. I like the F6 over my Aleph 30 for horns but both sound extremely good.

F6 or Hockey Puck amp is definitely a much better choice for 4 Ohm 87dB speakers, other wise you will want to modify bias current (not difficult) of Aleph 30/J or Bablefish J
4R, 87db/W/m , moderate level in not so big room - every of mentioned amps will cover without glitch
I agree although I'd still modify bias to get at least 30W into 4 Ohms instead of 13W of Aleph J4R, 87db/W/m , moderate level in not so big room - every of mentioned amps will cover without glitch
eeeekkkkkk
make a sim
there is more than 13W/4R

All it would take is to do 3 pairs at output to change the game completely.
I can do the sims though to see what the best setup would be for 4 Ohms.
Yes, the J is a good idea. There are a building guide too!
I prefere 30 for the power and damping factor. I would like build the 5 but for my inexperience it is too expensive!

Rather than clone product you will get far better results by optimising the design for your speaker load. You can do it with Zen Mod's Bablefish J or by adding an extra pair of output mosfets to Aleph J.
I read amazing thing about 30 DIY. It is when you fall in love and loose the reason!!!
I'm joking!

30 , 3 , J , with same supply that's the same amp , regarding power

It's 3am. I need to go back to sleep. I will do Sims later.
