AKSA's Lender Preamp with 40Vpp Ouput GB

I just hooked up this preamp to my main system with an Aleph J (SE Class A, 25w) and my 10F/RS225 FAST speakers. Incredible sound - a great preamp really makes a difference with some of these lower gain Class A amps. The whole system just came alive.

The new SMT 0805/1206 daughterboard has been verified to work. This build is using 10R degeneration resistors (R5/R6) and 12k feedback (carbon film) resistor. I am using two 4k7 in series to get 9.4k (specified 9.1k on schematic).

Closeup before installing on MB (I used solder paste from a hypodermic needle, heated with a soldering iron tip):

This is where I am going to build a dedicated Aksa-Lender pre for use with my new MoFo under construction. Finally starting to make a stereo setup with a baseplate and mounted heatsinks. This is the heaviest amp I have - about 30lbs (!), mostly those steel core MOTs and the heatsinks.

Imagine a four channel version with tube steel frame and MOT's I'm working on the design for, my guess is 60+ pounds with two SMPS bricks integrated into the lower part of the chassis. It will be an anchor for sure.......... 😀
