AKG BAP1000 Digital IO

sorry, I did not answer to one of your questions.
The Locked LED is switching on after finazilation of BAP1000 (and DIR9001) start up. Independent if input signal present.

BCK is a sqarewave with 2.822MHz and about 6.5V Upeak, L/R is at 44.1kHz and about 6.2V. Both signal look tge same: with CS8421 connected or not

Inverting BCLK is a standalone operation. The second action, changing 16k2 connected to ground to 1k0 connected to V+ changes the position of the data in the frame. It goes from Left justified to Right justified. The first action is because the CS5338 has data valid on the falling edge but the CS8421 expects data to be valid on the rising edge hence the need for inversion. The second takes into account the role of FSYNC and its effect on the data.

It works!

Hi,

after some soldering and paranoid checking...everything works splendidly.
So far I have checked only the TOSLINK input. No artifacts, drops, clicks or other issues.
I attached some pictures. Now I have to mechanically fix it properly.

Dear rfbrw my biggest respect and a big, fat THANK YOU!

and here the pictures:

AKG BAP1000 USB-in

As an update to everyone who also would like to upgrade the BAP1000 with a digital input.

With rfbrw's great support I was able to add an USB input. Of course the internal digital architecture is only 16/44.1 but the ASRC takes care of converting different formats.

For USB input the DIR9001 board has to be repaced by an USB Interface Card I2S Output (I took this one: XMOS + CPLD U208 USB Interface Card I2S output for ES9038 DAC board #Xe - Top | eBay).
