Well the problem i fixed shown a new fault in the firmware as you point out mike.
There was a wrong definition from the beginning. I will fix the issue with DSD64 tomorrow for native playback.
Okay sounds good. There's also loud pops when native DSD starts.
This is the last stable version.
The is small pops, but it is not possible to get rid of them. The is a small DC value on the output of the DAC in order of +/-20mV.
The we mute the DC falls to 0mVdc. This shift generates a small click.
in the case of exit from DoP there is a larger "pop". It is not a problem at normal listening level. Remember that Mike runs the DAC directly into the Power amp without any attenuation at all. He has no volume control at all in between them.
I will continously update the firmware. So any new fix will be posted here.

Chassis for preamp and DAC.
I have been meeting with the chassis designer today.
By the end of the week i will have the chassis ready for production.
Together with the chassis we will have an Lownoise powersupply and XLR connector and RCA connector board ready.

Hi Sonny,
The DSD 64 is working now in native DSD. Great job. But I'm still getting the big pop whenever each track is selected with native DSD. I get the small click followed by the big pop right after. So perhaps the timing is off on when the switch engages. But good news is the click is before the pop so it shouldn't be because the switch is too slow.

I will look into it. Can the software generate an silence before playing the file? ..
I have put In an delay before releasing mute... But Maybe it is long enough on the native part.

With SDMdirect on HQplayer, there's not much you can do. I have the buffer time set to a Mac 250ms. It's as good as it will get.
The DoP delay is timed right. The click probably isn't too bad with DoP if you had an analog volume control with the volume turned down when selecting tracks.
Transformer for LPS is now ordered.
It is an 42VA transformer.
The PCB will be 210x70mm in size and 2mm thick. More info during the weekend.

You're making a regulated PSU for DAC and Preamplifier?
Do
I am planning to use the ada4898 for the regulation for an walt Jung lookalike.. But with the +5v added.

Here's my implementation so far!
There will be a shield added all around the preamplifier and DAC to keep AC leakage away as much as possible from the preamplifier and same for PSUs and headphone amplifier. I will have to machine the front panel to fit the LCD later on and all the necessary buttons and switches that goes along. I will also integrate a Raspberry Pi II in the setup.
Stay tuned!

Nice! A little cleaner than my layout so far! 🙂
