Proraum Vertrieb continues with Audax brand. AAC is the company that manufacturers membrane material, but they don't use name Aerogel themselves.

In USA at least Madisound sells Audax Aerogel drivers Audax HM130Z10 Aerogel 5.25" Mid/Bass

Just for clarification, Proraum Vertrieb state they are Audax distributors in the link. AAC, state here, that they are the owner of the Audax brand and manufacture certain models.
Not much to add except I'm an Audax fanboy. They always seemed a reachable top of the line product. My first real nice speaker build utilized the HM210. I've since used a couple of the HM130 variances and my latest design will have an HM100 and 210. Nice to have a stash of Aerogel goodness on the shelf.

Andy, at audax.com did you toggle "Products" - I don't get a new page. Site was updated in 2019... Obviously AAC is making batches by request and distributors like THLP and Proraum do have NEW drivers including aerogel models...

Audax loudspeakers, in particular those from the Aérogel range, have fitted many loudspeakers from prestigious manufacturers (JM Reynaud, Mission, Kelinac, Infinity ...) and a number of quality kits using them have delighted amateurs. of personal achievements, then Harman ceased their manufacture.
Harman - frwiki.org tells Harman bought Audax in 1987 and sold it in 2007.
ps. I bought my HM100Z0 pair somewhere around 2012 from Germany, when availability was questioned. I used them in my slow project in 2018-21 and yes they deliver very nice vocals, crossed 300-3500Hz LR2.

Yes they supply newly manufactured batches of old designs with possible tweaks. This was explained to me about 10-15 ago by Falcon Audio when I was looking for a modestly priced efficient 4" midrange and they didn't have the Audax HM100Z0 in stock and didn't know when or if another batch would be produced. They still don't have any in stock today but some shops have a HM100PZ0. The first shop I looked at showed a picture of an aerogel cone driver under the new label. As did the second. But the third showed a paper cone driver.
I don't know the position today or if the same confusion exists for other aerogel coned Audax models. Anyone?
Speakers & Audio Parts, EU Webshop seems to have the widest range of Audax drivers in stock that I can find online.
I wrote them about the HM100Z0 last month. They said it's not made anymore but that the HM100PZ0 replacement (paper, not Aerogel), sounds similar to it.

My problem with the audax drivers is the lack of progress. Back when the drivers were first introduced they were pretty good but these days they have been completely left behind. Essentially the motors they use are basic with the performance you'd expect.

Actually the bass on the floor behind the speaker is my Jazz when I first bought it. It now looks like this. Might as well show off my latest build, a P painted in Ford Valencia Orange with a Musicman pickup.
Only reason I haven't went the refret route is the binding on the neck. I really don't want that ruined by having that proceedure done.

Kept my beloved 1994 Warwick Fortress one.
About refret i see the issue. I wasn't this confident when i had it done on the Thumb ( because neckthrough...). Everything went right though. The new owner was delighted ( a chance Warwick was ok to sell an original fret set as it'll had changed the sound otherwise).

I suppose I should enter the conversation - I'm a bass player! Originally double bass and now mostly electric bass.
I've had arthritis problems in LH thumb and RH fingers so needed a really easy to play instrument. I found it in the Gretsch G2020 Electromatic short scale. Superb neck - best I've ever used. Doesn't quite replace a Guild JS1 bass I once owned and sold for a WAL fretless.

My first was the black EX, then the Soundgear which I had for probably 20some years. Then the Harris unit caught my eye, as he's the reason I pursued bass. That led to wanting a J. Then the other P happened because the Harris bass didn't have the original neck and I finally found a bass with the neck I needed for it. Then that one became the orange project after seeing a P bass with the MM pickup, thought that looked bitchin, so I built that. That's all of them....for now...kinda really dig those Ibanez Iceman's......
