I'm looking for a kind of sound reinforcement woofer for a bedroom (not that kind of car-audio sub) and I'm not sure what to look for.
Some candidates:

Beyma SM-110/N

Fs 43 Hz
Re 6.2 Ω
SMC 7.88
Qes 0.37
Qts 0.35
Vas 65 l
Cms 368 μm/N
Rms 1.3 kg/s
η₀ 1.4 %
Sd 0.0355 m2
Xmax 4 mm
Xpp 28 mm
Vd 141 cm3
Mms: 0.038 kg
Bl: 13.2 N/A
Le 1.7 mH

Good Fs and Vas but small Xmax

Beyma 12BR70

Fs 31 Hz
Re 5.6 Ω
SMC 4.44
Qes 0.56
Qts 0.50
Vas 142 l
Cms 345 μm/N
Rms 3.3 kg/s
η₀ 0.76 %
Sd 0.0550 m2
Xmax 8 mm
Vd 340 cm3
Mms: 0.074 kg
Bl: 12.1 N/A
Le 0.85 mH

Better Fs and Xmax, but high Vas

Beyma SM-212

Fs 40 Hz
Re 5.8 Ω
SMC 5.6
Qes 0.4
Qts 0.38
Vas 150 l
Cms 350 μm/N
Rms 1.8 kg/s
η₀ 2.3 %
Sd 0.0550 m2
Xmax 7 mm
Xpp 27 mm
Vd 382 cm3
Mms: 0.044 kg
Bl: 12.8 N/A
Le 1.2 mH

These are easily available where I live and also cheap.

The enclosure will be either closed or one of the projects presented here (THAM12, Keystone etc)

If for a sub, it all depends, you mention all range? sound reinforcement woofer, the BEYMA 12BR70 v2014, VB = 150.0 L, FB = 27/28 Hz should be adequate as a subwoofer in a reflex enclosure. Just one of the options.

Attention that the Beyma SM-212 has two versions, also.

Fs (Hz), Vas (L), Qts, Xmax (mm), dB/2.83V/m
BEYMA SM212 v2009, 31, 8 Ohms, 40.00, 150.00, 0.373 ± 7.0 97.2
BEYMA SM212-N2, 31, 8 Ohms, 43.00, 103.00, 0.372 ± 8.3 96.7

I have a stereo amp which is rated at about 85W per channel, and I'm planning on running it bridged.
It will be used in a bedroom and possibly in the back yard for small parties.
The cutoff frequency will be at 100-150Hz, so it should go as low as possible below that. The rest is covered by an active system I made, but which has trouble going below 100Hz.
As for the box, I like the idea of horns like THAM12. THAM15 would be too big in size.

BRs are difficult to beat in LF content/extension. Why did you mention "closed", is that a sealed speaker? Confused here... The Beyma 12BR70 is excelent for an hi-fi sealed speaker as a second choice, superior to any other (make it first), not for PA/SPL. But you will be the judge.
Note: only 40w in a sealed (no correction) 106dB, and ~113dB in a BR with more power @Xmax.
For SPL get the 4waves, horns or BLH but you don't go deep and need electronic correction/protection.

Hi bogdan2011,

Perhaps the Thomann 12-280/8-w may interest you. It's an inexpensive driver (55€) that works great in TH's.

Cheers,
Djim

12-280 doesn't sim the greatest (not much does) in the THAM12.
Hi Zwiller,

Doesn't??? 🙂

Cheers,
Djim
