Do you think that the damage components might have impacted the power supply and amp?
Tell me about it! There are some really smart experienced people here who have solved similar problems using a pooling of expertise, experience and knowledge that is way beyond the average diyer.without schematics you are shooting in the dark
I am hoping the cavalry will appear over the horizon …
Re: post 4…is it safe for the switch mode power supply to test for voltages with no signal to the psu? Just asking as I don’t want to rush in and do any further damage.
Or
Is there any jumper option to enable the psu to enable voltages to be tested?

Connect everything and switch on. This is the usual case and you did it before
("no signs of life when powered up"). No audio input signal required. Check
supply voltages with DVM in dc mode and black wire connected to ground. Do
not check mains voltages at this point.
Warning : for me it seems you have no idea. I am not responsible.

You are not wrong!
However, I have enough of an idea to know that electricity can kill! Hence all the questions. I have worked on instrument valve amps and solid state, power amps as well as a Mackie subwoofer so have experience with high voltage. SMPS, however is a different beast, and without a schematic……

With a good, perpendicular and sharp picture of the crossover board
it may be possible to define test points. Which type is Q1 ?

I connected everything up and powered on the sub today…and there were signs of life..even with the suspect resistor and diode removed. Soft thumps could be heard from the speaker and lights switched on. I get a red light turning green. And a second green light on the filter switch.
Power supply voltages seem stable, at
J1 =47.4,
J3=1.4v , 9v , 12v, -12v and 8v
J4=3.0v
LEDs light up when switched on and voice coil activates the cone.
Still without the diode and resistor though, so unable to say if it is really working until connected to a system ……
