Active filter board GB

If this is a first order filter, you could take your output from the IC4A end of C11 and connect to JP8 pin 2 if you need level adjustment.

If a third order filter, I suggest using the second section as your first order part in the same way as above. You don't want to leave half of an opamp floating, it could cause interference with the used side.

Note that if you need extra gain you can use R14 and R 19 to set it greater than 1. If you do this you should use ~100-200 pF in C12.

Throwing out the PSU of the Silverstone case is not a problem for me.But i found out that the LC19 case is brand new and hard to get where i live.

I will need to look for other brands.
If someone finds some other brands/cases let me know.
I don't like the look of the ATI cases though.

I can always build my own enclosure.I have some ideas building one in the same style as my Luxman B12 Amp which i am planning to use for the mid/high section.

I missed previous group buys for this active filter and supply. Will there be any more or could we create another list to see if enough interest is available?

I was in the Nelson Pass Zen version 9 group buy and most likely others might want to bi or triamp their systems with this 10/15 watt amp.

I want to do a three way setup and possibly a low pass for subwoofer.

Thanks, Bill

Bob,

I plan to wade through the threads for the filter board and the PSU, but, in the mean time, could you please give me a synopsis of how they interrelate (for example, how many PSUs do I need for a stereo 3-way?) and what the options on the PSU are?

Thanks.

Paul

For a stereo 3 way, You'll need four filter boards. ~100 mA per board.

One PSU can handle that, although if you use all of the features on all boards you may be pushing it just shy of the limit if your amps have low imput impedance (<10K). It's good for about 500 mA. Many will use one PSU per channel.

PSU options are bare board or PSU kit: board and parts to complete the PSU for nominal +/-15V operation.

Looks like a go.

I will be taking a break from technology from 21-30 July - There's no Internet access where I am going (I can't bear dial up). I'll be back to answer questions on 31 July.

Have a good break. Hope it is a chance to savour nature. I have to say the US has some of the most spectacular and varied scenery around.

Nigel

Thanks Nigel. I'm heading to the Adirondack Mountains in upstate NY for some hiking and boating, so yes, I will be savoring nature. 😀

Although mostly under 5,000' high, many Adirondack summits have flowers and plants similar to those found in the Alps. A few years back after hiking in 11 miles while climbing 3500 feet with a 20 pound pack my then 13 year old daughter looked around from the summit of Mount Skylight and thanked me for bringing her there. Not as dramatic as the Alps or Rockies, but for me it's "home."

Sounds wonderfull. I had a similar experience with my son when he was 12. We climed to the top of Granite Dome in the Sierras at about 10,500 feet....at was a trip to remember....he is 33 now!

Have fun!!!

4 way set up?

The group buy is a go - I'm waiting on final pricing from Advanced Circuits. Once I get it, I will put up an ordering page on my website.

I will hold ordering open for two weeks once it starts.

My amps have a 240K ohm input impedance for the three way set up. The sub woofer amp will probably be 10K ohm.

How many of each would I need to make this work?

6 active boards and 2 power supplies? 1 power supply for each channel?

Thanks,

Bill
