Active filter board GB

Hi Jens,

I design the filters with aid of software:
- determine the desired electrical transfer function (DETF) by dividing the desired acoustical transfer function by the acoustic response of the driver
- analyse the TF: e.g. determine that a LR4 LP combined with a notchfilter will do the trick
- use FilterPRo to design the LP section (without notchfilter)
- implement the LP section in 5Spice and add the notch filter
- compare response with DETF and correct for the difference

After some fiddling I got something that approaches the DETF.
The question is will a real system act accordingly?
I gather from you site that it does.
No need for the calculations you suggest.
Am I right?

By the way: thanks for your excellent work on the group buys.

Dick.

All Boards Have Shipped

With the exception of the three people who requested that I consolidate their filter and PSU boards.

Non US residents will not receive an email notification from the USPS due to their glitch: There is no way to buy postage or print labels online for the small flat rate envelope.

Al,

You are special. 😉 I printed a label for your package sans postage that was designated for the large GPM envelope. Unfortunately, it wants to go in the customs form envelope that is larger than the small GPM envelope, so I didn't use it.

Rick,

The manual is coming - I grossly underestimated the time it would take for packing and shipping 450+ boards to 63 people.

Preview: The manual will refer you to one of the Linkwitz transform calculators on the web. There is one on Linkwitz's site, if you want to do it the right way and measure the Fs and Q of your system. There is another out there that allows you to input your box dimensions and driver parameters. I think it is available at Rod Elliot's site.

Did I miss the details about the GB round II? I see that I am signed up (which is great), but I didn't catch the details. What is the new price and are you (Bob) still coordinating everything?

Thanks for organizing a second round!

David
