A Really Whacky Speaker Build cometh..

Sorry Oon, I take it all back...Brilliant Basics Girls Plush Unicorn Slippers - Pink | BIG W
Thanks for the heads up... I was wrong...😱
I was just about to reply that the unicorn only daughter's cartoon come in all colours.

On a more serious note, I think what you are doing is cool, I think the question now is how exactly are you going to build something of this shape...

One suggestion is to use a PVC pipe, maybe a 12". They work well for bass stuff but not so for mids.

Yes over the last few days i have spent too much time thinking as to how to do this. And now I,m tasked with building four of them, the invasion is imminent.
That being said, what you suggested is going to be part of my build strategy.
I,ll try explain without pictures.

I will consider the driver unit and the dalek as two separate modules, the audio module will be a up firing 12" woof in a formatube housing ported at the bottom into the skirt cavity but firing at a horizontal plinth a few inches away on which the horizontal MTM array sits, as a module it will look ugly as sin, painted matt black to make it impossible to see behind the neck grill. Easy to make and no attention to detail required, because, well you wont see it / them.
These modules will just drop into the upper skirt plate, located on 3 captive balls for rotation / directivity. the grills and neck plates I will make as acoustically inert as I can given the design constraints. The outer shell although appears difficult at first then becomes quite easy as it merely a facade. Any other thoughts or ideas are of course most welcome, as long as it doesn't involve unicorn fur...🙂

Erotic Shaped Speakers are also popular.
e.g. E-JMLC-300 Horn

I thought I'd post a picture of a radial horn to show how it might fit into the space. It needn't be as elaborate though, a flat fronted commercial waveguide might be extended to fit.

Nice looking speaker, that. I hear they are quite heavy.

Maybe offering the radial was a mistake, it's not for everyone and SirDystic seems to have drivers chosen.

I hope he lists them, and tells us which ideas are good as they come up. This would be a good project to put effort into but without giving us the constraints, it's near impossible to move forward.
