Greta Thunberg actually has few weapons at her disposal. About the only one is when mature adults are so threatened by her that they look foolish when they make her a scapegoat.

It's sad, but Greta Thunberg suffers from autism and eating disorders (she discusses in an upcoming book). There was a child pyschologist on one of the news-radio programs who indicated that Greta's fears may be stoked by her parents. Just sayin'

I was going to say will Greta fly again so to speak. Then I remembered she doesn't.

Autism, Blindless and Deafness are problems we all suffer from to an extent. It's only recently women are being recognised as being possibly autistic. Multitasking covers it up. My ex worked for the Oxford English Dictionary. She was convinced it was a requirement there. Some work and never eat nor say hello.Work work work.

Airbus are in trouble! Workers told today. Strangely the EU didn't say much.

Greta Thunberg is a big part of the story. Her depression manifested in rejecting all and everything of the world we live in caused a resonance with many. It might be enough to tip the balance and kill either Boeing or Airbus.

Personally. I feel we should accept that global warming is for 100 years inevitable. Whilst undesirable it isn't as dangerous as Corona virus. What miss Thunberg wants is very dangerous as she wants it before we are ready. However inertia should cure that.

Thunbergs mother is a moderately good opera singer. Carmen I believe.is one she likes.

Yup so one of the potentially most popular airplane models is banned from being flown because it's killed hundreds of people? and the Corona Virus has decimated travel in the world, and this Greta girl is a BIG part of the problem? Because she's "rejecting all and everything of the world we live in" Everything? All? Mom and Apple pie? Oh, thats just the USA...

Also Democracy? religion? peace? Professional sports? Loving parents? tasty ice cream? I guess she hates it all?

I live at 700 feet. That's no accident. It's a reaction to believing that sea levels will rise. I have always lived near airfields. Kidlington, USAF Upper Heyford 400 metres away. Now Compton Abbas. I haven't seen any flying recently. We had Tiger Moths as Kidlington in 1960 and locally now. Heyford closed when I left. I received about $ 10 000 compensation as a result of local protests. I really miss F1-11 and never lost sleep. We could see the pilots as they came into land. B52s sometimes.

It's realistic. Even more so seeing all the government loans will have to to be repaid. We have just shown how the smallest interruption almost destroys all we know. Boeing and Airbus fighting for survival. However unpleasant global warming is it's something we will have to live with. It won't be easy. Northern Spain I suspect will be the safer bet. Aircrafts made that easy and cheap. Santander etc.

Nige, seeing what a simple virus does to destroy our way of living, how can you not say that Global Warming is infinitely worse??
It's slower so will probably become ugly after we pass, but it'll be bad. Very bad.
You can argue that so far Global Warming has already killed much more people than Corona, what with all the extreme storms and flooding especially in developing countries.

Jan. It's about time we plan for it. It's no good saying how bad it is. Doing nothing might be how it gets done. I wrote to our government saying in the past 56 new nuclear reactors need to be built to have green motoring. For various reasons I would not want that. However out of nowhere the UK has become quite good with wind farms. Who would have guessed that. Made by Siemens so not quite a UK industry. Non the less a gentle progress.

Boeing and Airbus -- still a lot of R&D going on at both, and entire cottage industrie of suppliers and hope-ful suppliers working with them, trying to get in the door. Both have really pushed the envelope of "de-weighting" which will pay off in other areas of transportation.

It's realistic. Even more so seeing all the government loans will have to to be repaid.

Loans through the US Small Business Administration may be reclassified as grants if the proceeds are used to keep paying staff. This includes Boeing. A number of companies are returning the loans because the economy is opening up. Nonetheless, the US money supply increased by the largest magnitude I have ever seen (and I have been tracking it for over 40 years!)

We have just shown how the smallest interruption almost destroys all we know. Boeing and Airbus fighting for survival.

Will have to de-lever the economy a bit. As wealthy as US is, 40% of working adults don't have more than a few hundred dollars saved for an emergency

However unpleasant global warming is it's something we will have to live with. It won't be easy.

There's another Milankovitch cycle coming your way!
